Benepe on building parks

The NY Observer always manages to get our city officials to reveal something interesting about the way their minds work when they interview them:

A Central Park Figure

If you could wave a magic wand and you could just get the land, where would you build more parks?

Central Brooklyn. Brownsville, Bedford Stuyvesant, Borough Park—there are almost no parks there.

I guess Benepe hasn't thoroughly read the latest dispatch from his own office:

Open NYC Parks

We need a lot more parks in Queens, too, Adrian.

Don't just blame Pink-panty-wearing Benepe. He's just the gofer and fetcher for Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is going to pander to only the cocktail hour crowd, so, Queens, next mayoral election, support someone more like Rudy Giuliani.

At least look for someone who has used a park rather than a country club.

How about a park for the St. Saviour's site!

Are you listening ?

Parks cannot responsibly handle what they have now. Witness: Kissena Park historic grove damaged by contractor and not acknowledged or corrected; parking lot in Kissena Park Corridor, given away to NY Hospital. There has to be some accountability.
