Woodside film shoot starts too early

"I took these pics about 4:00 yesterday (Tues) on 48th ave and 43rd street in Woodside where they are doing a TV shoot today. As the notice clearly states, there is no parking as of 10:00 PM Tuesday night, yet as you can see, they were already blocking off spaces at least SIX hours (probably even earlier) before the stated deadline! They are really taking advantage!

Thanks." - Anonymous

PS: I just noticed they are parking their trucks and trailers in front of the fire hydrants again.

That is a terrible show too. And who names a kid Sherlock in the 70's? Also, ladies playing Watson and Moriarity. Stupid minds, stupid, stupid.

You know that the "artists" that work on these shows get welfare from the city to live and work here. So the feeling that they do whatever they want with abject impunity is quite apparent. Just hope nothing explodes.

WHAT!?? Can you offer substantive proof of this?

Do you mean "Welfare" as is commonly understood in NYC as being free food, rent etc?

They did this over in Maspeth. All the parking spots taken were for their personal vehicles and once all the spots were filled, removed the cones and signs. It's pure B.S. that they can easily come and disrupt neighborhoods with very little warning.

So, contact your community board, your elected officials, The P.D. Let 'em know whats going on.

What will probably happen is, no one will do any of that because god knows, watching "Dancing With the Stars" Or "Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is way more important than actually getting out from behind your PC and going to meetings and addressing the issues you're concerned about.
Besides it's easier to vent here and fool yourself into thinking you've done your civic duty...

Cretins!

I love this show. Jonny Lee Miller is amazing! And not a dud in the whole cast.

But yes, a lot of the crews that work on all these shows shot on location here can be very entitled and obnoxious.

A couple of years ago the same crap happened in Ridgewood. Crews came in and took up a street for their personal cars.
A local wise-guy got a bunch of kids to hang out on the street and sit on the car hoods and fenders. They played touch football and let the ball bounce onto the BMM's and Benz's. They played their boom-boxes very loud and made a complete nuisance out of themselves.
The film crew gave up after two days and split without finishing the scene.

Just move the cones and park.

Exactly as the comment above says: move the cones and park. Let them argue with you. They don't have a leg to stand on. (If it were me, I wouldn't simply move the cones, but fling them across the street or down the block.)

10PM is when the tow trucks arrive so thats the recommended time to move so you don't get towed....BUT they are allowed to start taking spaces the day before....so technically they were legally allowed to cone off those spots as people left.
