Former council member Al Stabile passed away

From the Queens Chronicle:

Former South Queens Councilman Alfonso Stabile died on Saturday morning of natural causes, Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) said. He was 68.

"Al Stabile was a passionate and dedicated public servant who always put the community first. I grew up watching and admiring his career in politics," Ulrich said. "Al was a great councilman as well as a loyal and loving friend. Our city is a better place today because of him."

Stabile, a Republican, served as the city representative for the 32nd Council district, the same seat Ulrich holds today, from 1994 to 2001. He was born in East New York, but his family later moved to Ozone Park. He is an alumnus of John Adams High School.

His wake will be held at James Romanelli Funeral Home, located at 133-18 Cross Bay Blvd. in Ozone Park on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, located at 101-41 91st St. in Ozone Park, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

yea, right, (do they read this stuff from a script?)

How soon before there is a bridge, street, school or park renamed after him? Every politician deserves a place on the map.

Al "where's the meal" Stabile was a lousy councilman. His successors haven't done the job much better either.

Why is it that corrupt, dishonest and derelict, self-serving politicians continually depict themselves (and the other, like minded politicians whom they memorialize), in ways that are so utterly false and undignified, versus an educated constituency who can see the 'Cold Light of Day' with such unwavering transparency?

Hence, a pipsqueak, bought-and-paid for, dishonest, passive aggressive, amateur, sycophantic impostor like 'Derelict' Ulrich would be the LAST pathetic hustler, wanna-be, whom I would ever entrust to memorialize a lying, cheating, stealing, like minded Con Artist like Al Stabile, when there are so many BETTER hustlers out there in failed public service to sing Stabile's false praises (with a proven track record in evidence)!

And in 'Dullrich's' predictably sad case alone, honest, ethical leadership (that leads by example), will sadly never have a fighting chance at survival in the crumbling empire of entrenched, monstrously failed leadership of the 32nd councilmanic district, when it is Ulrich himself who continues to reject his constituents with an arrogance and impunity (as well as his 'Friends & Family' city payroll bacchanalia), while practicing 'selective' and 'occasional' representation, that is a total betrayal of the oath of office whom he swore to uphold.

In conclusion, Ulrich is a bottom feeding bastion of hypocrisy, and an experiment in epic fail for his languishing constituents! We must stop exalting all failed leadership, then, in Queens County, lest we are beholden to engender and invite more of the same dereliction of public duty and intense incompetence, among the barely living (and hardly working) representatives!

Wake up, Queens County residents---the big, 50-year sleepwalk has officially ended!

He lied to Al Damato when he said he would vote for Defronzo but voted for Werner. You needed an umbrella when he passed buy, his perspiration and farts got all over you. Erich must have been one of those farts.

Wasn't he the one who stole money from a little league team in Queens?

Another DEAD deadbeat elected official. Just because the person dies, no need for nice words. He was just another asshole corrupt elected official who as reported died of natural causes. If natural causes are that you are a fat unhealthy fuck, then yes, he died of natural causes.

Remember, there is no peace for corrupt elected officials, they come back as Jamaica elected officials over and over again.

I am sure somewhere in his district there is a public toilet that needs naming.

Big Al---and his crony, Howard Beach pals!

Alas, many were duped into believing that Stabile would help the 'little guy,' but, instead, he helped himself---to everything, except accommodation for his constituents, and the public be damned (just like Ulrich's shady, selective and occasional representation today, that selects easy work and self-appointed bullshit)!

Now, I finally understand why a dirty little nugget like 'Derelict Dullrich' thinks so highly of his childhood idol, because this street crumb named Ulrich is still very far from any measurable standard of accountable goodness and accomplishment, that even a local thief like Big Al himself was somehow able to occasionally deliver some modicum of competence, that has completely failed his successor (both of them, actually, with jerky, derelict, Joe Addabbo ahead of Ulrich (by eight painful years), making everything worse in Stabile's wake.

Where and when will Queens County finally elect someone (anyone!), who dutifully practices honest, ethical leadership (that leads by example)?

At this hopeless point in time, I would sooner find a herd of African gazelles in my backyard, before any pretense of responsive, reliable leadership!

No, that was Assemblyman Brian McLaughlin, not Stabile who made a steal from a little league.

It was Al Stabile, not Brian McLaughlin, Anonymous, who was caught with his hand in the Ozone Park Little League till. As for McLaughlin, I believe that there may have some theft involved with a sports league (among bigger crimes of corruption that ended his cradle-to-grave career with incarceration), but Big Al was the first to steal from children, among his circle of public service thievery!

I KNEW IT! And he did some jail time too!

Ulrich should retract some of his kind words about a thieving politician who couldn't care less about his constituents. He stole from the little league!!!

Anonymously Grey Gardens said...

Jail time, yes, Anonymous! But, remember now, according to Eric Ulrich's 'Fantasy Island' memorial, this well fed sewer rat was his childhood hero (dare to dream)!

And, this from someone who was, at one time, entertaining a career in serving God in the priesthood, when he can't even serve any of his languishing constituents! How I love a good joke!

It seems that great criminal minds always think alike, as with Big Al and Pipsqueak Eric---where the next stop for this pious fraud may very likely be a term in the 'Big House' as well, in keeping with the true spirit of his fraudulent, childhood mentor!

Only in the murky waters of Queens County, folks---where the waters just keep getting swampier by the hour!

After we become Detroit and depopulate the city...

Good thing I waited for the regulars to comment first.

I saw the sweaty whale at the annual festival at howard beach almost 20 years ago when he was at his peak being an m.c. at a raffle, which the money that was collected went to a cause that was "near" and dear to him. I yelled what a ripoff and got scowls from what looked like the worst of the worst of the town and his minion entourage. Let's say I had to 23 skidoo!

That whale is why Queens wound up with Helen Marshall/ Al was really a big ass fixture at the time and was popular enough to be BP and it was common knowledge what a frivolous spender he was, even amongst the doted masses in Ozone Park (and there were many, wouldn't you if Gotti and similar types hung out there, I just couldn't). Think about all that money he stole from kids and think about the lack of upkeep of the fields the games were on, say Charles Park.

Good riddance to another self-entitled sociopath waste of life that squandered his chance as an elected official because of insatiable greed.

Sadly and predictably, JQ, the political septer has been passed on to yet another amateur-rank, arrogant, corrupt, cowardly depraved, dishonest, dishonorable, disloyal passive aggressive, derelict self-entitled sociopth---and his name is Eric Ulrich (or, truer to his real calling, 'Derelict Dullrich')!

Alas, the utterly false, fake and failed political machine just keeps cranking out these defective (and mentally damaged and deranged) rejects, with conveyor belt-style precision---and, that's why Ozone Park resembles a crumbling cesspool of raw sewage---sadly, the least of which is because of Joe Addabbo's and Andrew Cuomo's lowlife laundromat (that thoroughly cleans out any and all pocket money, like nothing else!), better known as the Aqueduct Racino!

Even actual rats reject this heaping pile of blighted, casino trash that needs to be incinerated---along with the garbage leadership that was behind the tragic development of this foreign gambling mill of epic, humanitarian fail in the fist place---ironically, above desperately needed schools, housing and all other necessities that continue to be ignored with impunity!

Welcome to Ozone Park, Queens County---the new, official gateway to the Fourth World! Come see the abject poverty in real time Third Worldism---stay for the peasant fare!

Dear Lord, I wonder what they will say about all of you commenters when you are dead? He is not even buried yet!

Anonymous said...

Just because we could use some facts among the rhetoric: Stabile never did jail time. Probably because he was never convicted. Probably because he was never charged. If he stole the money, he got away with it.

And yes, McLaughlin did steal from a little league, among other things.

Is that all cleared up now?

Dear lord ... Ha, good one. What they'll say about iritano is that he worked for the state a little while, got fired, and spent twenty years trying to get a payout and whining that every official who didn't get it for him was worse than hitler.
