Flushing pigeon house is a big problem

From CBS2:

Residents of a Queens neighborhood said they’ve had enough of the pigeon problem that’s left their street a disgusting mess, but they don’t know who to ask for help.

As CBS2’s Steve Langford reported, residents turned to CBS2’s Facebook Page, saying the pigeons have taken over a house with droppings covering the sidewalk, forcing people to walk on the street, and stinking up the neighborhood.

I will never understand people who feed pigeons and squirrels and other wildlife. If you want a pet, get one and keep it in your house. Otherwise, stop encouraging the proliferation of these animals. What the pigeons and squirrels don't eat will be food for rats and roaches, which this city already has too many of.

Don't blame the animals for the streets of shitty flushing for being gross and dirty! It's the nasty people over there who overflow trash cans and throw their trash on the sidewalks! They Are Filthy People that live over that way! Third world trash brings their third world trashy habits with them!

This lady pissed me off. She know she is feeding the nasty rat birds and acts like she is not doing it. Bird poop all over the place does not make any sense.

Flushing's for the birds!

1. no one knows who to call.

2. the news agency contacts a city bureaucracy and no one can comment.

What is wrong with this picture?

Now if they wanted to put up a 15 story hotel in the community you can bet all the elected officials would emerge out of the woodwork to help (and receive a campaign donation)

So instead of social engineering initiatives (to keep party stalwarts employed in tweeding programs) why doesn't city council crack down (or even notice) quality of life issues like anti-litter campaigns?

As I understand it, the police does not fine those who feed the pigeons. Only the Sanitation police can do it, if they catch them in the act.

Squirrels are cute and don't shit on your head like pigeons do.

There's a woman from India or Pakistan....whatever...who feeds pigeons adjacent to the Roosevelt Av. #7 train MainStreet stop escalator entrance....north side of street.
Mounds of crap are on the sidewalk next to various unsanitary bums sitting on the sidewalk benches (which the city should remove) and a tangle of chained bicycles.

Peter Koo....where are you?

When I saw Parsons and Flushing I wasn't shocked one bit. The few times I been up there the past 2 years it has devolved into an overpopulated wasteland. Especially the chained bikes, which has become verifiable junkyard left there by the chinese takeout and various other restaurants.

That birdlady is an awful troll and needs a new hobby. Or at least find an isolated spot by the highway to care for her feathered rats.

"you talk to the pigeons" she says, who is she Dr. Doolittle?

all the garbage and pollution from people all over the streets yet they hate on pigeons. Just don't feed them near your sidealk and make sure there is not garbage on the sidewalk. Pigoens will leave if there is no food around

Every so often, someone gets really annoyed at the pigeons, and puts out poisoned food for them and there's a big kill-off. Sad, inhumane, and effective.

FIne folks feeding pig-eons

Pigeons and rats only exist in places where there are easy food sources and garbage, which is pretty much QUEENS.

Remove the garbage and the pigeons and rats move on.

Pretty fucking simple and it costs NOTHING. NYC, slob capital of the USA.

I wouldn't be surprised if that lady also runs one of those "chicken" on a stick food carts.
