Stopped in their tracks

Facebook
"Hi Crappie, Last night I went to see the Queens Symphony play a concert in Forest Park. In the beginning, Melinda Katz got up on stage to sing a couple tunes - after all it was her father who started the Queens Symphony and she has been singing with them for many years. First though, she had to introduce the audience to her two sons, Hunter and Carter, and Curtis Sliwa, their father, who of course was wearing his red beret and jacket. I give her an A for getting up there and singing although some of the notes were cringe worthy. The conductor complimented her and said, "We could have the best singing Borough President in the city and she's not bad looking either."

During the concert, a group of about 12 bikers on ATV's and dirt bikes came roaring out of the woods in a cloud of dust and the conductor made a comment about the noise as they tore up the main road. On the way to the bathroom, I mentioned the incident to a Parks worker with a badge and he was unaware of what happened so I went over to a 102 PCT Police car in the parking lot just so they would have a heads up. Sure enough, the bikers came roaring back a half hour later with two Police vehicles on their tail and they got them right on the road by the concert. So on top of a great concert on a beautiful night we got to see a light show courtesy of the NYPD." - Rich

Is a public official allowed to do this? Pandering for votes? With her name sprawled all over the concert series event? This should be investigated.

I gagged at Rich's comments - one of the reasons that Queens looks like this is our childlike wonder at the brilliant august political leadership running a once fine place into the ground attended by the laughter of the outside world.

Like the Kims of N Korea, and Chairman Mao of Red China, they can swim the fastest river, out think the fastest computer, write a divertimento finer that a Vivaldi, paint a mural that trumps Picasso, think of a dicier bon mot than Oscar Wilde, and in short, bless our humble benighted lives with the genius and sunlight of their ethereal presence.

Thank God for His gift of Queens Politicians.

Gotta love our shady borough president being upstaged by bikers.
What a broken down borough Queens is. Maybe Pete Vallone junior can join Katz in a howling accompayment on his guitar.
Meanwhile Queens' voters fiddle while their borough burns at the direction of its mediocre crooks.

Sliwa was supposed to be gone because she'll never become mayor with him attached to her skirt.

A pox upon whichever brownnoser told her she had a good voice...

All Curtis Sliwa is missing is a red clown nose!

You forgot about Joe Crowley who fancies himself as a musician. The Queens political powers all long to be entertainers but they are as entertaining as a train wreck.

The asshole is now a singer, she is barely a Queens Borough President.

Focus on your fucking job instead of this transparent political bullshit.

What is wrong with fucking people for putting hacks like this in office over and over again. It is always the same shit over and over again. American people are really fucking stupid.

Ugh, the bikers in Queens are such an obnoxious scourge!!! Applause to "Rich" for notifying the police. I hope they all lost their bikes.

Detestable as Katz is, it was really disrespectful and unnecessary of the conductor to add "and she's not bad looking either."

Is Curtis running for President too? The Donald and Curtis would make a perfect President and Vise President' Perhaps we could vote for which one was more obnoxious.

I thought she kicked Curtis to the curb.

Without the cursing. I agree 100%

"The Donald and Curtis would make a perfect President and Vise President"

Try reading the first sentence of the twelfth amendment of the US constitution.

In case any of us "sheeple" haven't noticed "we the people" have nothing to do with "putting hacks like this in office over and over again." Who will run and who the sheeple will be 'allowed" to vote for is decided over and over again in the back room by the political party in power. American people are NOT really f..... stupid, their right to choose who runs has been usurped by the people with all the money. After all, it's not WHAT you know it's WHO you know. Sad but true.

There is nothing wrong with the "f.... people for putting hacks like this in office over and over again." as the decision who the sheeple are "allowed" to vote for is decided in the backroom of the party in power. "American people are NOT really f... stupid", they simply have lost the ability to choose to those with all the money to back elections. Sad but true.

The cops actually do something?!

Mamma mia! A singing borough president. What an embarrassment!
As W.C. Fields once said of a no talent wannabee, "Her talent lies between her thighs".
Maybe she's not even very good at that.

Katz is sooooh bad she couldn't get a gig at Theater In The Park, so she strong armed herself a "singing" cameo.
Failed at a professional entertainment career, she went for borough president instead. What a soap opera Queens is.
The cats in my back alley can hold a note better than Melinda.
Somebody should have thrown a shoe at her for disturbing the peace of the night, like in those old cartoons.

The disgraceful Melinda Katz, dog and pony show continues. Given her past, her affair with the married Curtis Sleezwa, her selling out to real estate interests while in the city council, this tired wannabe singer should be retired permanently by the electorate.

BUT people are fucking stupid, regardless of having lost the ability to choose candidates who never get to make it on the ballot.

To those who have made the statement people are not really stupid, I give you exhibit A:

The Kardashian Family

George W. Bush

The Big Bang Theory, 9 seasons and counting.

American Idol

Fox News

Pet Rocks

The Bible

Organized Religion
