Queens GOP gets big booster

From Crain's:

Supermarket billionaire John Catsimatidis is continuing his pattern of offering financial support to those willing to support his mayoral bid: His just-posted campaign filing shows $23,000 in payments to the Queens Republican Party's housekeeping account on March 1, which came after the Queens Republican Party officially endorsed his candidacy.

In December, Mr. Catsimatidis bluntly told Crain's that his donations to political parties "depends on who is supporting me."

Regardless of the payment, it's not surprising that the Queens Republicans would back Mr. Catsimatidis. He has had a long relationship with the party leadership. And its executive vice-chairman, Vincent Tabone, is a paid consultant on Mr. Catsimatidis' campaign. Mr. Tabone also works for Ms. Catsimatidis' Red Apple Group. In general, Mr. Catsimatidis' generosity over the years had helped endear him to the various county chairmen.

Wasn't that Red Apple group under investigation?

I've seen a dish of tapioca pudding that's more exciting than the crop of candidates in boh parties.

#2..you are confusing the grocery chain with the RED APPLE CAR SERVICE

many Greek Americans have contributed much to the American scene.

eg." Tony Vassillaros ,THE COFFEE KING". a hard working salesman during his life and a down to earth pleasant man. i had the pleasure to travel with him.

eg. Former C.I.A. Director George Tenet ,from Queens, who threatened to resign the W.J.Clinton administration if "THE TRAITOR " U.S./ Israeli spy Jonathon Pollard was pardoned. i had the pleasure of traveling with Tenet also.

Wasn't Lipsky the lobbyist for Red Apple Group and Catsimatidis?

Queens Crapper said...

Catsimitidis was not involved in the Lipsky investigation.

Don't trust him enough to bend over in the shower.

He's a Greek billionaire.
You know their track record for buggering.

Wasn't (Willets Point) Wellington Chen connected to the Red Apple pre-schools?

There is (or was) one located in Chen's building.

Isn't that the same one that CB#7 is headquartered in?

RE: Richard Lipsky, dem. lobbyist.....SEE:NYT "LOBBYIST PLEADS GUILTY TO BRIBING STATE SENATOR".

Lipsky was convicted of bribing NYS Sen. Carl Kruger,Brooklyn Dem. and others in NYC.

Kruger went to prison.Lipsky donated much $$$$$ to dem. politicians.some returned the $$$$$.

i believe his name was connected to the Willets Pt. issue also.

...Well, anyway, I believe Christine Quinn has the best chance of winning that position.

I'd like to know who stands the best chance of winning the City Council position, in District 19...

Greeks don't even trust each other since their national myth is the unbridled perfidy of the Trojan Horse. The Greek Church begat Islam and Communism by rejecting Original Sin. You want NYC to end up like Greece & Cypreus?
