Casino tries to be good neighbor

From WPIX:

The slots are big business for the new Resorts World Casino in South Ozone Park Queens. The casino estimates 5 to 10 thousand people come through there every day.

When the casino opened in late October, it is estimated 65 thousand people visited the first weekend.

While there are 6500 hundred parking spots at the casino, residents say gamblers are still parking on the quiet residential neighboring streets.

And Rockaway Boulevard is filled with people waiting to enter the casino.

The Resorts World Casino New York President, Michael Speller, says they are aware of the traffic concerns.

Sounds like another feather in the cap for City Planning, the community boards, and the elected officials for looking out for the community.

Good company.

LIC, Dutch Kills, Elmhurst, Flushing and soon Astoria and Ravenswood.

Casino parking should remain free or there will be more trying to park in the neighborhood and walking in.

There is sufficient parking on the casino property. There are always inconsiderate folks who park in residential neighborhoods and avoid lots when it's convenient for them and to hell with others. Casino parking should stay free to minimize the excuses for parking on the streets.
