A Bright Idea

Since the Crapper is always criticized for not liking any development projects, I thought I'd let you know about the latest one on the horizon that sounds like a good idea to me:

Beacon of hope for S.I.

Staten Island: Development Planned for Terminal Area

It would create a museum, stores and housing and restore the waterfront, which now is sitting there simply decaying.

Photo from the National Lighthouse Museum, which is what will be restored.

It's great to hear some good news for a change!

This really does sound like a creative well planned project. We live in hope.

Hey Crappie, don't worry about those criticisms.

Lets hear from the rabid pro-development lobby: real estate companies, newspapers, politicians, and community boards - what do they consider important to enough to save?

And no fellows, the fire houses, swimming pools and cemeteries don't count.

Let's not rush to applause - have you seen the crap that's being built on the SI waterfront that will be surrounding it? This might be a fig leaf to cover up more waterfront uglification.
