'W' is for worst

Now here's something to be proud of:

Straphangers report says W is for worst

Subway riders in Astoria have the dubious distinction of living on the worst subway line in New York, according to the Straphangers Campaign, which ranked the W train at the bottom of its 2007 list due to overcrowding and long waits for passengers.

I'd always thought that one of the great advantages of living in Astoria would be the quick commute into Manhattan. Judging by this report I guess that's not actually so. A person might live in Timbuktu and be no worse off.

What is the beef? It is redundant with the N train so you get lots of service with train after train with plenty of empty seats going to Ditmars while crowds stand at 59th Street waiting for the R.

What is needed is to send it along the R route, which is the worst train in the city but doens't have a politician's office near its terminal to suggest this unnessary redundant service, and like St Saviours, goes through the wrong neighborhoods - so its lousy service never gets noticed.

Lousy train service, overpopulation, increasing over development, an electrical power grid that resembles an octopus tangle of mismatched extension cords......sounds like a "nice" recipe for disaster !

Are you listening Don "junior" Vallone and the rest of you political mafiosi ? !!!

At least those old school Italian "godfathers" made sure that their territories ran smoothly !

What do you expect from a train that was named after Bush?

The MTA is the most hated organization in our city, mismanaged by Kalikow and his Republican scum cronies.
