Here we go people are slobs and the city dose nothing to clean the area or enforce sanitation regulations against the litterer or the property owners.

I got news for you third world bashers.
Postal employees from nearby Station "A"
are among some of the offenders here.
I have personally witnessed after hours , or during breaks,
postal workers setting up chairs here, etc.
I do not begrudge them a break under the shade of a tree...but....I hope that's all they're doing.

Are there any tailgate parties going on here?
Maybe. I'll send in some photos if I see that happening.
BTW...this dark portion of Station Road is strewn with graffiti. Gang origin? I don't know.
There used to be some MS13 graffiti there, and that is very definitely gang script.

Where is Councilman Vallone and the LIRR police?
Well, now you have been officially notified on Queens Crap.
Move your asses!

I will be forwarding a photo of a character....not sure if he's homeless
or one of the local drunks that hangs around the area.
He sits in the Broadway station waiting room...peaceful....so far....
but needs some watching.

There is a feeling that a lot of shady activity going on
around the 164th Street, Depot and Station Road area near the station....
3 "massage" parlors, a few night clubs, etc. One establishment, now closed, was raided for being a bordello.
Maybe the LIRR should be installing some additional surveillance cameras.

Thank you Queens Crap.

Bubba....I think that this is a Long Island Railroad right of way. NYC's DOT and DOS controls the street.
Ring your councilman's office and see if you can get the same deluxe service he offers to his developer clients
regarding the filth, poor street lighting, and graffiti.
Hello council member Vallone!

Who would choose to have a party along dingy Station Road?

Nothing compared to Flushing Meadows park on a Monday morning after all the white trash barbecues are over, specially love the dirty diapers left behind for the Serfs to pick up.

Around my way MOST postal employees are third worlders! So I don't know what you are even talking about?

Sorry to bust your bubble but I AM NOT a liberal apologist...just said that postal workers are using the spot too.
What I see here also is YOUR neighbors' kids hanging out.
If they are third world trash, so be it. There are an awful lot of Irish-American,
Italian-American, Greek-American , etc. 2nd and 3rd generation drunks who also use the spot.
What's the difference? A pig is a pig.
Don't jump to conclusions that it is mostly third world folks who are responsible.
Maybe you "White" folk ought to be more aware of what your precious kids are doing, when you're not too busy hitting the bottle yourselves.
There's an awful lot of "White trash" living around here too.

Where is " your way"?
Station "A" postal workers are not as third world as your nabe, perhaps. You sound like quite a knuckle head yourself, bub...even if you are a bonafide "American"? Bone headed sounds more like it.
But there are some third worlders at Station "A". Next time maybe another photo will be posted that wiill reveal what their nationality is.

Those postal workers were in uniform. That's how I know they were postal employees.
Since Station "A" is right across the street, they must work there! Duh?
You need an upgrade on your cranial operating system. And they looked very "American" ...whatever the fuck that means...to me.

"Third world trash brings their third world trash behavior with them!"

Agreed. Check out Bowne Park on a Monday morning. The third world-sters routinely bring their household garbage to the park and dump it at the corners of 159th Street and 29th Avenue, 159th Street and 32nd Avenue, on 29th Avenue across from 157th street and by 157th Street and 32nd Avenue. They also dump their trash by the receptacles along the pond.

Numerous complaints to the Parks Department and 311 have gone nowhere. Complaints to Councilman Vallone helped a bit but the problem has become chronic.

Rats have been seen ripping into the plastic bags deposited there.

Where is the Bowne Park Civic Association? Where is the Broadway-Flushing Homeowner's Association? Probably too busy re-reading the Rickert-Finlay Covenant.
They all fiddle while the neighborhood rots.

Take your 311 complaint numbers and call DOI inspector general for Parks Dept.
Then you'll get action. Each city agency and department has an inspector general. Look it up online.
I've gotten results that way.
Let's see if Vallone's COS reads this and decides to do something about this trash at the RR station.

Cameras are the answer to almost every ID problem.
Cameras at Bowne Park and more cameras at the Broadway station.

Both the Bowne Park Civic and Broadway Flushing Homeowners Association
should be on Vallone's ass. That dumb goombah ain't really doing shit for his district.
He smiles and strokes his dome. Then he goes home.
Feeble efforts are what you get from this so called councilman.
Picket his God damn house! BFHA can't be counted on for much more than serving tea and crumpets.
They are far too respectable. That's why the nabe looks like crap.
The other side of the tracks is not in BFHA's purview, the way they see it.

BFHA...the Broadway Fiddle-de-dee Hold-another -social-tea ASS-ociation.

BFHA needs a good shot of B12,

Both these associations have become far too insular for their own good and the good of the area.

Who is running the Bowne Park Civic these days?
WTF does it do? Maybe it needs a fence around it and gets closed at dusk like some of the other city parks.
People go to drug and have sex there in the wee hours of the morning. I've seen it!
Public parks are a great security risk for anyone who owns a home across from one.
Note the recent Bowne Park burglaries.
The perp can sit and scope your house or walk the perimeter without arousing much suspicion.

Take a trip around Bowne park and you'll see the ice cream vendors back in business. I've heard that they are selling drugs again and the Asians will not report this.
A couple of years ago some Mr. Softee guy was busted for selling out of his truck.
Looks like it's happening again and the newbie's in the 'hood are afraid to open their mouths.
Wait until their kids are found in the park bathroom with a needle in their arm.

The issue around the Broadway Station has existed for years. Sanitiation claims it is too difficult to clean with all the commuter cars. Post a sign No Parking on whatever day you choose and get the job done. The cleaner a problematic area is kept the cleaner it will stay. The LIRR needs to routinely clean the area inside the fencing and DOT needs to paint the opedestrian bridge. For that matter, Helms Bros. needs to remove the grafitti from the railroad side of their building. It is one of the worst grafitti sites in the neighborhood.

Old Bag in Elmhurst said...

This photo just shows a whole lotta litta, no furniture, construction debris, etc. A single concerned citizen could easily take care of this: invest in a garbage can on wheels, some heavy duty trash bags, and one of those litter picker thingees (which are sold in the dollar stores, and also Home Depot if you want to get fancy). Really, unless there is dumping, in which case you'd call 311 for a pick-up, just take care of it yourself if you live or work around here and see it every day. Is it FAIR to have to clean up after slobs? Absolutely not, but life ain't fair. Unfortunately, this seems to be a case in which the only way to get this area clean is to do it yourself.

Happy picking!

Sincerely,
The fat old litter collecting lady of Elmhurst who cleans up the used condoms, drug baggies, pee bags, and other disgusting crap from 43rd Avenue every Saturday morning

BTW,
last night, returning from a local cafe, I walked down Station Road at about 8:45.
There I saw , double parked with back hatch open, an SUV and a few uniformed postal employees.
They were sitting on folding chairs, were a little loud and drinking something. Did I interrupt a tailgate party?
I would have snapped a cell phone photo to post but I was afraid one of them might go postal on me.
They did not look very third world to me.
Local white trash, your goodie two shoes little children in Broadway, also contribute to the filth.

This is a commuter hazard to have this poorly lit, poorly cleaned, poorly supervised hang out for undesirables existing.
How come Paul Vallone is doing nothing about this? I am sure he has been notified. Tow away a few cars after a no parking zone is established.
This HAS NOT been an ongoing situation for years...not to the degree that it has escalated to now. I don't know where you have been living.
If you live in one of those houses directly across the street, then clean the graffiti off of your walls. Are you that lazy? Do you prefer to have the Dept. Of Sanitation do it for you?
Wait until needles and crack viles are discovered. You can smell the "weed, grass" being smoked at times...and we are not talking
crab grass.

This reminds me of how lazy and dishonest DSNY, Sanitation, is with enforcing laws regarding illegal postering.
