No, No more! We surrender! We surrender! The electric grid is failing! Failing! We will all be in the dark!

Is this that "connected" doctor's project?

Q: 40,000 people on six superbocks with one road leading to the rest of Queens?

A: Not to worry, they can be connected to Manhattan via ferry.

The community board members nodded, and the guy that represents Dutch Kills area said something to the effect that we are not 'in prinicpal' objecting to this project but still 'want to ask questions'.

This is one of a handful of areas targeted BY THE MAYOR for massive development.

The local waterfront groups say nothing.

Thats nice ...

and thats what you get when they are appointed, their minutes go unpublished, and their qualifications unknown.

The entire exercise designed to make a body whose existance was to increase community participation yet another excuse to make a community powerless and give them an excuse (its hoped) to stay home.

This seems to be a fairly common problem in Queens (in the the other boroughs the community boards are, for the most part, very different).

Who trains these people?

How do we make them accountable to the grassroots?

Why can't we have a clearing house so that other communities can monitor what is going on elsewhere?

Obviously if these people mismanage their community, the repercussions blow back into the faces of other communities.

I am in favor of this. Where can I go to express my support?

-------

Go to the tax office where you can pay for the infrastructure costs.

What is it with the city and big development on swampland?

Coop City is settling playing havoc on utilities.

MULTIPLE CHOICE:

A) POSTED BY AN ASTORIAN USED TO HAVING THE POLS DECIDE WHAT IS GOOD FOR THEIR COMMUNITY

B) THE OTHER 90% OF QUEENS DOWNZONING AND HOPING THAT CRAP LIKE THIS GOES TO ASTORIA.

C) SOMEONE MAKING MONEY OFF THIS ZANY IDEA - IN OTHER WORDS, SOMEONE WITH TIES TO THE CLUBHHOUSE, COMMUNITY BOARD, OR LOCAL PAPER.

Follow tradition: drop large bags of cash in politician's offices like everyone else.

HALLET'S COVE IS SWAMP - NOT BEDROCK. JUST LIKE THE OLD FILA TENNIS DOMES NEAR CON ED'S TRAINING CENTER ON VERNON.

HAS ANYONE SEEN WHAT'S LEFT OF THE TENNIS DOMES AFTER A FAILED ATTEMPT TO PUT YET ANOTHER "LUXURY" CONDO ON THE TOXIC WATERFRONT?

IT IS NOW THE EAST RIVER.

For land with high water levels they will just use pilings and landfill to build on.

So why haven't they put pilings down and land filled in the last 6 years since the sight was demolished? Why have they left the land fallow? They had plenty of time before the economic collapse to build there. I really don't think the bedrock its there till over several hundred feet.
They didn't do their home work as well as the developer was trying to flip the property, undeveloped for 28 million.
