Mayoral candidate promotes illegal conversion of cellars

Finally, an honest candidate for mayor!

Don't forget his other *EXCELLENT* idea - once Community Boards and "city departments" approve, allow developers to build at twice the allowable floor area ratio (FAR).

That would be *AMAZING* for all of the neighborhoods that were rezoned the anti-McMansion R2A and R1-2A zones in Queens - specifically to stop that from happening!

It's really sad when the main policy decisions of a candidate is to allow unbridled development by massively increasing FAR and creating illegal apartments in the cellars of houses throughout the city.

What can I say, TOTAL ASSHOLE!

It's already being done . Probably a million homes have illegal setups...

The Chinese just love cellars.

They hide nefarious activities below ground level...
be they illegal mahjong games or whore houses.

FLASH:
AMERICAN DO NOT WANT THE DENSELY SQUALID ORIENTAL STYLE OF LIVING IMPOSED ON US HERE.

If you want to live with your nose up your neighbor's ass...go back to the Orient.

If you can't afford the upkeep on the house you bought without income from tenants living in your basement...then sell it!

It ain't gonna happen.
This upstart architect "candidate" will get 20 votes.

At least his arrogance is out in the open, unlike the political crooks we already have that hide their connection top developers.

Those illegal conversions occur mostly in nabes that do not have strong civic associations.

He drinkie too much Gin...Lee thinkie he king shit!

So Lee's vision is that NYC should become as densely packed as Hong Kong?

What is it with "architects"?
Are their weenies so small that they feel the need to overcompensate for their shortcomings, by erecting monster buildings?

Such megalomania has its financial rewards for the builder, but devastates our feeble infrastructure.

He must be a relative of Tommy Huang.

--------------------------

If you pay an architect to design a single family farmhouse on a six acre lot, they will do so gladly. If the client says he wants a condo tower on a city lot, they will as well.

What is so shocking about that. Do you really think an architect has any say in what gets built and where? Look to the city, and to developers for that.

He gets my vote. No more Hurricane Sandy property damage.

Ceramic tile and metal studs will hold back the tide.

What we need is a refreshing someone who can think out of the box.

Koch did same

Anon No. 4:

Which American are you talking about?

Anonymous said...

A joker, not an architect he is.

Anonymous said...

Many a Nazi camp commandant had said,
"I vas only followhing orders from Berlin"

The same can be said of the relationship between architects and developers.

Good architects improve the landscape.
Bad ones destroy it.

Lee? He on gin.

A lot of civil unrest is going on in China that isn't being reported so readily.
The great plum is ready to fall from the great Communist tree.

Hang in there.

China, in about 5 years, will have had its day in the sun, and we won't be getting its overconfident scum emigrating here.

The once "mighty" Japan has fallen from its 1970s economic high...so will the vast Asiatic "tiger".

He's seeking to change the zoning laws, so he's not 'promoting illegal conversions.' He's promoting changes to the law.

Anonymous said...

Where does it say that?

We already have one dangerous, diabolical man as mayor, all we need here is another from the same developer friendly mold. I can't imagine anyone homeowner in outer Queens to support this clown.

No tickee, no shirtee.
Maybe Lee has $500 to run his campaign.

LOL!

Better go back to the money laundry for some funds.

He's just another megalomaniac architect with delusions of grandeur.

FUGGEHTTABOUTHIM!
