Bloomberg quite a caricature

From the Daily News:

Voters can look forward to seeing a cartoon version of Mayor Bloomberg on the big screen now that the award-winning musical satire "Smoking Bloomberg" is being adapted into an animated film.

While no voice talent has been announced yet, the stage production that took the "Best of the Fest" Award after its 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival run is being developed by New Core Productions and Brooklyn-based Silver Lining Film Group onto multiple media platforms.

David Hambry (Gahan Wilson's "Diner") has been tapped to animate the riotous musical, which follows a Korean dry cleaner who seeks to snuff out the mayor after his controversial 2003 citywide smoking ban ruins her business.

The sometimes crass and irreverent story (which includes songs such as "Everybody's A Dictator" and "Sometimes It's Okay To Kill A Person") artfully questions personal freedom in a post-9/11 world and many New Yorkers' shared struggle to live the American dream.

Most likely Bloomie thinks any publicity is good publicity. Should make an excellent movie. Great song titles that are so fitting for him.
