Weisbrod leaving City Planning

From the Observer:

Carl Weisbrod, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s chairman of the City Planning Commission, will exit his role overseeing the municipal zoning revisions at the heart of the administration’s affordable housing agenda in February, the city announced late this afternoon.

Just weeks after Administration for Children’s Services Commissioner Gladys Carrión resigned amid scandal, Weisbrod revealed he will abdicate his post to become chairman of the Trust for Governor’s Island, a city-owned non-profit. Former Empire State Development Corporation President Marisa Lago will replace him at the head of the 13-member body, seven of whom are mayoral appointees, and the remainder picked by the borough presidents and Public Advocate.

I imagine that the powers that be are looking for someone who will accelerate the bicycle lanes program.

He will resurface when Preet subpeonas him.

It's because of this guy that shitty ass Brooklyn has got more super crowded. The east NY development plan might not get done after all, so the poor and middle class there will avoid displacement from city sanctioned gentrification.

From one crooked position to another.

Wow, who here even knew this Multimillion dollar patronage mill even existed?

From the website:

"The Governors Island Corporation, doing business as The Trust for Governors Island, is the 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization created by the City of New York and charged with the planning, redevelopment, and ongoing operations of 150 acres of Governors Island. The Trust’s mission is to transform Governors Island into a vibrant resource for New York City, making the Island a destination with extraordinary public open space, as well as educational, not-for-profit, and commercial facilities. With the mandate to activate Governors Island, maximize public use and attract long term tenants, the Trust has led with arts, culture, and design."

Why can't they just put this parcel under DCAS, with Parks and LPC taking interest in a few specific plots.

More destruction for the rapidly vanishing American middle class, versus self-enrichment for City Hall's pseudo power elite. If this is the face of what public service and honest, ethical, inclusionary, not for sale leadership (that leads by example) looks like——then, everybody is doing it wrong (again and STILL)!

What a bastion of corruption, incompetence, greed, graft and hypocrisy! SERIOUSLY??

Why....are the Feds about to put a shoe up his ass?
All the rats are leaving the sinking De Blasio ship.

Not to worry, Tony Avella will save us...IF....he can beat Scott Stringer who gets the machine support.
Too bad. Avella would be a great mayor but machine money will whip him down.

Avella doesn't have to worry about Stringer. He isn't running unless BDB gets indicted (which is unlikely, even though I'd like to see it):
