Steinway Street hotels will be quite large

From DNA Info:

Construction will start later this year on a 289-room hotel planned for the corner of Steinway Street and Northern Boulevard, on the site of the now-shuttered Western Beef supermarket, according to the developer.

JMH Development and Mettle Property Group will build the five-story project at 36-20 Steinway St., in what will be a "dual branded" hotel featuring a Homewood Suites on one side and a Hampton Inn on the other, according to a press release.

And you can bet that they'll both end up with homeless in them!

That design looks like a school or a hospital. Both which are needed more than another damn hotel.

It also resembles by it's size the Pan American Hotel on Queens Blvd. Crappy is right to jump to conclusions.

Of course it replaces a supermarket, because who needs to shop for food.

Another brainstorm of removed library trustee and Jimmy Van Barmer chum George "Upzone" Stamatiades and ex community board 1 honcho from the "community board from hell." Dutch Kills Civic, one of the earliest "political" civics of western Queens now confides itself to discussing parking and sanitation issues that mostly benefits the new development rather than the pathetic community that remains.

You can be sure that 35 St station will now be crowded further adding to the impossible misery that the Democratic politicians have added to our lives. Commutes will now take much longer and will be excruciating experiences.

But, then, we will have bike lanes and the East River trolley, right?

An oversized hotel on Steinway, better known by Astoria residents as the dump.

Yeah, Jimmy Van Backdoor politics.
This council member will take it anywhere for campaign donations.

And what does their Greek councilman gave to say about this? He and his family are already rolling in the dough from developers all over Astoria. Hey Preet, we have another one for you....

Hey, you need big hotels with lots of space. NYC has about 60,000 homeless with numbers still rising. "Hotel" is the new buzz word for Homeless Shelter.

"Hotel" is the new buzz word for Homeless Shelter.

"Hotel" is also becoming synonymous with endless government moneys to be made!

There are of course some choice political contributions required, but then the money will keep flowing...

Looks as if 36-20 Steinway is Jimmy's not Costa's district.

Of course. Not actual housing, just a "hotel".
