Questions for Katz

From Crains:

Q
What kind of development would you like to see in Queens?

A
For things that are already happening, we have a task force for the Willets Point area; we have a task force for Flushing Commons. I'd love to see more retail and hotels in Jamaica. One of my goals is also to have much more affordable housing there, to utilize the zoning that we put in place five years ago, to build hotels for economic development. In Long Island City, we have a great opportunity to leverage the Cornell tech school that's coming to Roosevelt Island. And for people in their 20s, we want them to stay in Queens.

Q
What's it like working with the de Blasio administration?

A
For someone like me, who's been in elected office 20 years, I spent the whole time with a Republican administration. So it's a different atmosphere. What I find now from most of the commissioners and the deputy mayors is the openness to other elected officials—our ideas, what we think is best for our constituents. There seems to be a team effort, more than there has been with the other administrations.

Q
Do you think you'll be more active than your predecessor, Helen Marshall, who was known as being low-key?

A
Everyone brings their own characteristics, but for me, if I'm home on a Thursday night, it means someone screwed up my schedule. Although I'm not sure I've been home on a Thursday night yet.

What about hospitals, parks, pedestrian safety, and transportation? You can't just "keep developing"!

Can this person construct a real sentence that a normal person would speak?

Its all canned spam.

More retail,so I can go look at it,then buy online cheaper, and pay no tax, thanks!

its like she mentioned affordable housing as a token gesture.

I don't like this person at all,but she fits the zero vision mentality that's spreading amongst the offices of city government

Not having affordable housing in already overdevolped areas is one of our biggest problems according to her. Let's keep ignoring the real problems in Queens that are usually a direct result of overdevelopment. What an idiot.

I wish she would be home on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights too.

What a puke artist! Clueless!

She needs to visit the dentist in Astoria - those are some crappy, yellow teeth for a 1%er.

I didn’t vote for her
But the idiots in Queens who did have no idea what’s happening or don’t care.

She’s not an Idiot. She knows exactly what she’s doing. I didn’t vote for her. But a lot of smucks in Queens did.
Wake up people it's already to late

Has Katz had a town hall or other open meeting yet?

Does she have anything to say about the obligations of the city for infrastructure and services as the administration picks the winners and losers in the competition for over-development dollars?

On one Thursday when she has off, can she go to Austin Street to buy couple of outfits? Maybe a dress, or skirt? Anything other than those masculine suits and slacks. Now that she won the election and is making some cash, I think she can afford it.

George the Atheist is on fire!!

With all the money she's made with her developer friends, one would think she could afford a decent dentist. Guess not.

A dress? A skirt?

This woman needs a COMPLETE fashion, facial, dental and hair make-over. The whole 9 yards. She's supposed to represent the Borough of Queens. This frumpy look just doesn't cut it. At least Helen Marshall had some kind of stylistic sense.

Hey Vicki Schnepps. Your paper is chock full of beauty and fashion ads. Can't you get one or more of your advertisers to do something with Katz? C'mon Vicki, somebody, help the kid already.

What kind of lens will Dom Totino need to shoot that mug?

She dresses like the centerfold for Farmers' Almanac.

Hey George, Vicky couldn't do anything with Trudi LaForgia either !

georgetheatheist said...

La Forgia was a cop. She's supposed to look like a cop. Katz is the the galleon figure, the figure-head of the Borough of Queens. Presenting our "fair homeland" in the best sartorial and preened light? Katz on the front of the Ship of State? Uh-uh IMHO. An absolute aesthetic disaster. She ought to be ashamed of herself showing up in public looking like that.

Those are some damn substantive comments you folks are making about Katz's appearance. Lots of thought on the issues that matter to Queens.

Oh, and she has public meetings pretty often. Ever hear of the borough board? Not to mention her pavilion event, parents meeting with Farina, tax lien workshop. You can find out about such things by reading public notices and/or the local papers.

These were the questions asked.

Hell, why not just ask "Do you swallow?" It is just as pertinent as those lame questions.

And remember, it's not how you feel, it's how you look. And you, Dahling, are looking mahvelous . . .not!!!

She's been giving skull to developers for so long that her teeth look like they need straightening!

Face that Sank: Whatever dude, she has public meetings as required by law. It's just a fact. If it makes you piss on yourself, see a doctor.
