Tony Arcabascio comes out swinging

From the Daily News:

The race for the borough's top elected office has become a battle over who is more in touch with the 99%.

Front-running Democrat Melinda Katz and Republican challenger Tony Arcabascio are seizing the imagery and ideology of the Occupy Wall Street movement in hopes of winning a seat that has little to do with fixing America's ongoing imbalance between rich and poor.

The odd debate started earlier this month when Katz sent out a campaign fundraising letter saying “as long as there's a Republican running to be the next Queens Borough President, fighting to make life easier for the 1% while working families struggle, our work is not yet finished.”

That set the mild-mannered Arcabascio, whose parents were immigrants from Italy, into a fury first unleashed during a Facebook rant.

“How dare you sit in your lily white castle in Forest Hills, that you are always sure to mention, while many residents of Queens struggle not just to live and eat but to survive the corruption of people that have defied their will such as you,” he said.

I love this guy already!

My first vote for a Republican coming up

Good salvo, but he's going to have to keep delivering more punches like this in a very visible way to stand a chance. That article mentions he raised only 3,000.

Go, Tony!

Tony came to our civic meeting in Bellerose earlier this month. He had my vote before the meeting but my wife could go either way. My wife was very impressed and liked this guy a lot. If you’re concerned about what’s happening in Queens and it's future. This guy should be the next Borough President of Queens.

Has any Civic scheduled debates?

I wanted the other Tony for BP but this guys not bad. Why, would anyone vote for Melinda Katz?
Claire Shulnan, Helen Marshall, Melinda Katz. What's the difference?
If we want change in Queens, we have to make a change. We need someone who will work for the people. Please wake up and vote for a change.

And why does Katz, the Homewrecker, keep hiding her Republican-favoring sperm donor Curtis Sliwa?

80% of the wealth in this country is owned by those over fifty. That's why we need real death panels.

And why does Katz, the Homewrecker, keep hiding her Republican-favoring sperm donor Curtis Sliwa?

The ex-Mrs. Sliwa - the one he was married to at the time of the alleged sperm donation - is still trying to prove that he and Mel were having an affair, rather than a platonic donation.

I personally know Tony, and this guy is the real deal. He knows exactly what the problem in Queens is as opposed to Melinda Katz, who is definitely a person who cannot be trusted. Her comment about a Republican is bullshit. I am a Democrat and I would not vote for Melinda for anything. I have been in Tony's corner ever since the other Tony (Avella) dropped out.

Time for the Democrats to stop thinking about party lines and vote for the person you can trust and who you feel can do the job and that is certainly not Melinda. She is just Helen Marshall on steroids with a brain.

Tony Arcabascio for Queens Borough President.

Nyc needs to stop building these stupid High risers that no average person can afford and they should focus more on deporting these illegals and allowing the middle class to clean up those neighborhoods that were over ran by illegals! Then nyc needs to go stricter on their zoning laws that way our children have smaller class sizes. Then the government needs to temporarily stop immigration and completely stop illegal immigration that way our economy can start healing instead of bringing in more unemployed people. Businesses should be held responsible for their outsourcing and work visas should be more strict, they should have to hire Americans first not their relatives or friends from overseas

He's as much of a moron as she is.

Anonymous said...

I agree, forget about the party. Vote for the person that will do a better job. Avella had my vote and he's a Democrat. Tony get's my vote because he's the better person for this job.

And how exactly did you come to that conclusion without one thing to back it up, not one.

Either you are a Katz person or just another bitter bitchy type on Queens Crap that has nothing good to say or any type of constructive criticism.

Katz, The Happy Homewrecker, could have made a choice from literally 100's of sperm donors from the sperm bank. She specifically opted for Republican Sliwa's gonad goo.

A self-made immigrant, Tony has the management skills and experience none of the others in this job ever had

What makes Curtis Slimewad a Republican? He supported Obama-taxer Koch-stooge Bob Turnercoat

Sliwa has been a Republican since the 1990's when I used to call his show on ABC talk radio. Notice how The Happy Homewrecker keeps him out of the public eye?

It's not debates that win elections. Its name recognition; Tony Who?; and party affiliation, more democrats than republicans. So come on Tony, stir it up man!

Tony get out there and get the vote
We don't need or want another Helen Marshall as BP

Today’s New York Daily News article on the unusual Queens Borough President race touched on something that political savvy people may know – but most Queens residents unfortunately do not know. But the average residents of Queens need to know & cannot sleepwalk through this year’s QBP race on November 5th.

Melinda Katz has lived a life of wealth & privilege, with political mentors who either ended up in jail or were hit with the largest improper lobbying fine in the history of New York City. Campaign finance records are inescapable. Melinda Katz is figuratively a wholly-owned subsidiary of mega-wealthy developers and mega-wealthy people in general (like just one of her big time donors, Republican John Catsimatidis). They are the embodiment of the infamous “1%” This is a fact that is clearly shown in the campaign finance records that anyone could look up. Perhaps someone could do so & post the pages and pages of Ms. Katz’s mega-contributors to let objective viewers see for themselves. [And also see the recent photo on John Catsimatidis’ Facebook page with Melinda Katz, John Catsimatidis who anointed her in his words as the future Queens Borough President, 2 bank CEO’s and a newspaper publisher]. Ms. Katz loves socializing and getting mega money from Republicans and Democrats alike – yet pretends to hate all things Republican when she shamelessly asks working families to cough up even more money. The developers are salivating at the thought of their friend & enabler Melinda Katz as Queens Borough President. Their collaboration has made them all a lot of money for over two decades. If Ms. Katz is elected, the “green” thing that will matter most to her & her development donors are the dollars that will line their pockets. They are the “1%” wolves in sheep’s clothing. The developers know that she will continue to be an invaluable rubber stamp for them in their efforts – & they know that there is money to be made in Queens over the next 4 years if she gets elected. Not for average citizens, working class families, or homeowners who worry about the quality of life in the residential parts of their neighborhoods – but for the developers, for the Queens County Democratic Political Machine that is apparently eager to get their cut no matter what happens, and for Melinda. And her wealthy patrons and development financiers will be expecting a LOT of favors from her for all of that cash. Developers do not tend to give any campaigns extensive amounts of money just for fun – so a Katz victory will mean those IOUs will have to get paid to the detriment of regular people in Queens. I am a Democrat, not a Republican. I live in & love Queens, & so do my family & friends. And anyone who lives here knows we get the short end of the stick and it has been that way for decades. This one particular race is unusual – which is why it was in today’s Daily News. There is a 6 to 1 ratio of Democrats over Republicans. But in this one race, it is the guy running as a Republican QBP candidate who is clearly not on the payroll of the developers. I have heard him speak. I was pleasantly surprised, he was a breath of fresh air, & he seemed like a decent working class guy. If you are a Democrat, please do not just reflexively vote down party lines if it includes Queens Borough President. Do not vote for this greedy, unprincipled, proven train wreck of a woman who you know in your heart that you don’t really want to have to listen to for a minimum of 4 years. And that is not even taking into consideration us having to listen to the hateful & immoral Curtis Sliwa who among many things, hates Queens, hates Democrats, hates dressing like an actual adult, and will gleefully enjoy spewing his stupidity, racism and bigotry as the official first man of Queens.

I’m sick of the same old politicians like Katz. It took me a while to figure out how to spell his last name, but I will vote for Arcabascio for Queens Borough President on November 5th. I hope others will as well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Please vote for Tony Arcabascio for Queens Borough President

I think this is the Daily News article that was mentioned about the BP race. And here's one about Katz, Sliwa, and the sperm.

Saw Tony speak at the debate at Flushing Town Hall and right away knew I was going to vote for him.
He is the right person we need as our borough president. He is to-the-point and knows what the people of Queens want and need. He has common sense and his answers to all the questions were exactly how I imagine most Queens residents that love this borough would answer them. Not a phony guy and has no special interests with developers or real estate.
He said in the debate that he is very nostalgic and if he could would save a lot of buildings in Queens, instead of tearing them down we should repurpose buildings that are vacant instead of developing on new land. He mentioned a lot about Queens' history, which was amazing to me. He talked about Flushing Meadows and is opposed to any development on it. He also mentioned he can't believe what happeed to RKO Keiths theater in Flushing why no one has bought it and restored it and found a positive purpose for the building.
He has my vote, I hope he kicks ass and wins!!!!

Katz, Hevesi, Weiner. Koslowitz, and Cohen. They have controlled and ruined central Queens over the past 25 years. Can everyone please just block these
names out of you head for once when you go to vote going forward???

Anonymous said...

If I were back in good ol' Queens, I know who's campaign I'd be working on. Tony Abracadabra! And I damn sure hope he is magic but only you folks can do it. VOTE FOR TONY, please!

Alright, calm down people.

Republicans are just that - Republicans. The Republican Mafia that Bloomberg put in place will own Tony pure and simple.

The problem is that we need Democrats that are real Democrats - not Democrats in sheep's clothing that characterizes the Queens organization for decades.

Take a look at the Vallones. Massa Joe Crowley in ol Virginny while us 'happy people' send him tribute.

The problem is with the Queens Voter. We need to stop being happy with a creep that is evicting our neighbor for a development project just because they give your civic money for coffee and donuts and show up twice a year to nod while your old ladies complain about noise, sanitation or the 30 Mexicans that just moved into the old widow's house next door cause her loser kids that moved out to Nassau Co and still live in the 1980s think that is fine and no one in office cares.

The point is to make the life of Katz and her ilk impossible. At every opportunity stay on her case, and encourage gadflies to challenge her. It will take little for them to take the next step to run for office.

Its sooooo easy Queens.

But, considering your passive loser lazy mentality got you here the chances of you doing anything is effectively nil.

Yep - crossing party lines for the first time to vote for Tony!!!

And sharing all this stuff with my fellow -Democrat friends in the hopes of swaying them as well!!!

Sperm-donor my ass!!! What incredible bullshit!!!

Hate to break it to you Joe, but I'm not a Katz supporter, nor a Tony supporter. They're both morons.

Bet you do not vote anyway

Those who said that Tony is a moron, still have not given one specific, we all know about Katz. So come on Tony bashers, bring something to the table that states he is a moron. Don't just say something because you want to and there is no basis, I understand that it is the Fox way and much of the American way, but put a little effort into it.

This sounds good to me:

Welcome to ARCABASCIO for QUEENS BOROUGH PRESIDENT.

I am a proud native of Queens. As someone who grew up in Queens I remember the wonderful times and memories I had in and around our great Borough. I want to give our children those same great times and memories by ensuring their safety, education and providing them the exposure to the arts and entertainment that they deserve. I want to take care of the people that took care of us...OUR SENIOR'S. Without them we would not be enjoying the life and freedom that we have today. I will work hard to get them all that they deserve and have earned.

Vote for me on November 5th and bring common sense back to government and our everyday lives. Vote to have someone that will represent your interests and not the interest of Developers and Lobbyists.

Thank you

Mr. Non speller, no one is saying that she was riding with the cop/gangsta motorcycle group. We're saying she supports them with her position at the councilpersons office and on paid city time. She is an enabler of this type of crime against innocent New Yorkers. That makes her just as guilty. Fire her!

While I want candidates who are not corrupt, owned by the real estate lobby etc. I will never vote Republican. I hope all "good government" candidates run in the Democratic party or maybe some third party.
