From the Wave:Several heavy chunks of concrete fell from the roadbed of the elevated train structure at Beach 73 Street and the Rockaway Freeway, at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Police officers closed off that stretch of the roadway. An MTA spokesperson told The Wave that the city agency was continuing its work on the structure, but that it is safe to travel underneath it.
