Tour of Corona finds some crap!

"The home with the stairway to heaven and steep driveways is on Alstyne Avenue and 104th street.

The brick home under construction is on 108th Street at Waldron Street. What I find pretentious is how architect Gerald Caliendo puts the AIA logo on the construction sign, as if the AIA would approve of this brick monstrosity. No way would this brick box ever make the AIA Guide, but Caliendo must be proud to show off his AIA membership.

In contrast, some local developers do care about history, as the charming empanada store at 108th Street and Van Doren Street shows." - anonymous

How the hell those three houses on Alstyne Avenue got built without been auditted. The exterior stairs are not permitted obstruction in required open space/front yard according to the zoning resolution. Plus, the exterior stairs need to be 10' away from any interior (side) lot line. The DOB should revoke their permits immediately.

I like the charming empanada store where the non-citizen can relax and spend their food stamps. It give them a break from the nightly trials of partying all night.

I am white and I eat there. They do not take food stamps, this is a cash only business.

But it's OK bigots, when we are the permanent minority the Hispanics will treat us as fair as we have been to them.

OH GREAT, DO THEY COLLECT SALES TAX? I ENJOY PAYING HIGHER AND HIGHER SALES TAX TO COVER THE GROWING CASH ECONOMY.

NOTICE HOW MANY BODEGAS SALE BLUNTS TO THE UNDERAGED?

THEY SAID THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN ABOUT OTHER GROUPS IN THE PAST. BELEIVE ME, THE HISPANICS WILL JUMP THOUGH HOOPS TO BE PART OF THE LARGER POPULATION.

DOING IT ALREADY.

You mean we will be allowed to dodge taxes, stay off the grid, and enjoy a bounty of free social services?

Love the Empanada Cafe-- they are completely legit-- my sister and I found the place when our kids were small and we used to take them to the Queens Zoo or the Hall of Science--we'd pick up empanadas on the way home. It's owned by two sisters, has been reviewed by loads of magazines--it's tiny though-- we usually get take out. http://www.empanadascafe.com/

Last time I checked, the empanada place doesn't take food stamps. Leave your racism at the door.
