From COMET:
Four years after its construction and 2 years after the first building complaint for illegal occupancy, the infamous "Garage House" of Mazeau Street (57-40 Mazeau Street) has been forcibly vacated by the NYC Department of Buildings. This was a garage that was converted into a home without permits. Lately, the property had not only been inhabited, but the front yard was being used to store commercial vehicles in violation of the zoning code.
We commend the Department of Buildings for taking action, but what took you guys so long?

If the DOB was really serious about this issue, they would knock this property down and confiscate the land. The land could be sold and the proceeds could go into the city coffers. If the city needs money, perhaps this is the way to go. Lots of crap out there with lots of violations. Lots of money to be made.
If you miss the garage house, visit 25th Road in Astoria where not only do we have our own garage house but it is where the DOB and HPD stop by for their bribes.
Vacated? I want to see it torn down.
"I want to see it torn down."
The DOB should torn down the other two houses accross the street built by Tommy Huang.

Record the bastards in the act and then report them. This can be done with a little pen video recorder that goes for $60 on ebay.
If you miss the garage house, You can install your own portable garage.
