Ravens nesting in Queens

From 10000 Birds:

It has been well over a month since I reported the ravens’ nest in Queens on 10,000 Birds, the first ravens nest reported in the history of New York City. It is about time for an update, and it is a heck of an update! The ravens have been spotted feeding nestlings by several observers, including yours truly! Assuming all goes well it is only a matter of time before the nestlings become fledglings.

Last year, I went down to my basement to use the computer (as I'm doing now). I sat at the keyboard and a big black bird flew over my head. In the basement mind you! WTF sez I. How the hell did it get there? Down in the basement. Answer: it jumped in or fell in the chimney and came out by the boiler. Now, it's flying around and I'm figuring it's going to do some damage either to me or all the"stuff" surrounding the computer. Or both. What would you do? I shut off the lights and left the basement, This was during the cold months. The next day, I came down the steps and found the bird dead by the boiler. It probably died from the heat of the boiler and/or dehydration. I dunno. I got the whisk broom and pan, swept it up and threw it into the garbage.

Looks to me more like a common crow. Not necessarily an arrival to celebrate.

It's not a Crow, it's a Raven. That's been established.

It matters not
crow or raven

I see my cousin Edgar Allen [sic] Bloombird beat me to the punch!:

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

Thank you. I'll have a little bit of the dark meat and then some of the light meat. Easy on the potatoes and gravy.
