Nutty senator goes off the deep end again

From the Daily News:

In his latest off-the-wall behavior, hothead Sen. Kevin Parker Wednesday morning accused Senate Republicans - and even some Democrats - of being white supremacists.

Parker updated his Facebook status, saying he was "in Albany fighting the evil of White Supremacy!"

And Parker, who exploded in a fury during a public committee meeting Tuesday, defended his outburst during a radio interview as "par for the course of what we have to do up in Albany fighting the forces of evil."

Sen. John DeFrancisco (R-Syracuse) initially set Parker off on Tuesday with his formal questioning of Mark O'Luck, the first black nominee to the New York Power Authority.

In discussing an affirmative action program, DeFrancisco told O'Luck someone doesn't have to be black to walk in someone's shoes.

Parker called the line of questioning racist, even though three of his Democratic colleagues - Ruben Diaz, committee chairman Carl Kruger, and David Valesky - said they didn't believe DeFrancisco was out of line.

Well ya know what? That's what happens when morons vote for people because they are "oh so nice" during the campaign instead of what the facts and issues are and how this person is going to help us.

when the "nutty senator's" local wanabees go off the deep end. play the race card . the state media including the queens weeklies suppress the racialists comments.
this is journalistic corruption.
i hope "crappy" never falls for their racial crap?

If you are senior chances are that Social Security-Medicare/Medicaid are keeping you healthy and free from poverty.

Those are social programs made by Progressives. The true doctrinaire capitalist would have you working till you drop dead or relying on the handouts of others..Like it was in the 1930s.

They are celled "progressives" because they think and move society forward.

And the only reason the "wealthy" spent enough on you to give you a decent way of life is because wage and labor laws dictated they do-so. Go to -any- country without those laws and you'll find some fabulously wealthy, and most others without a pot to pee-in.

Socialism again.

BTW: The line "the rich were good to me" (so leave them alone) has been used so many times, just as you did, the GOP must have worn out many a Fax and mimeograph distributing it.

I love this guy, he is so 70s even his natty pocket square is so retro. When he gets mad he breaks into a sweat and requires others to hold him back from doing inappropriate things. Yep, this is all tolerated after all others are to blame for the past, thus we put up and shut up to allow the circus to progress such as this Nutty Senator.

The reason you were able to accomplish whatever you did was because laws that enforces fair practice, anti-trust and fair wages were in place.

In the robber baron days of pure capitalism, before progressive legislation you would have been an economic serf -your talents at marketing would have been used solely at the behest of your "betters" and they, not you would have profited.

Take a look at those poor Asian restaurant workers a few posts down, -that- is what you and your family would have faced in the era before progressive legislation, now, if they are brave enough even they will be able to get seek redress.

Ok let's take Lino's points one at a time. First Social Security: Social Security is a social insurance program officially called "Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance" (OASDI), in reference to its three components. It is primarily funded through a dedicated payroll tax. During 2008, total benefits of $625 billion were paid out versus income (taxes and interest) of $805 billion, a $180 billion annual surplus. An estimated 162 million people paid into the program and 51 million received benefits, roughly 3.2 workers per beneficiary.

Reform proposals continue to circulate with some urgency, due to a long-term funding challenge faced by the program. Starting in 2016, program expenses begin to exceed revenues. This is due to the aging of the baby-boom generation (resulting in a lower ratio of paying workers to retirees), expected continuing low birth rate (compared to the baby-boom period), and increasing life expectancy. Further, the government has borrowed and spent the accumulated surplus funds, called the Social Security Trust Fund, while counting the funds as revenue, not debt.

During 2008, the fund held $2.4 trillion in government bonds—essentially "IOUs" or claims on the government's general fund or tax revenues. This amount is part of the total national debt of $11.3 trillion as of May 12, 2009. By 2016, the government is expected to have borrowed nearly $3.7 trillion against the Social Security Trust fund.

The first steps to insolvency has already happened we are now spending more than the system takes in - 6 years early. Most experts agree that some or all of the following will have to happen. We will have to cut benefits to all Social security recipients, raise the age to begin receiving benefits to a level that many who paid in will never receive any funds or very little or ask young workers with families to give up a substantial portion of there pay in the form of increased payroll taxes. This is your socialist utopia politicians forcing workers to pay heavy taxes so retires will receive smaller benefits, if at all, with lesser amounts to live on. While they stole 3.7 trillion of the workers money. That's how all-socialist programs end up. Doesn’t sound very “Progressive “ to me just a sophisticated good old fashioned con. Wake up you’ve been had.

yes, this is why i laugh when the purveyors of the "social experiment" use social security as a clever grand argument illustrating the benefits of socialistic programs

they just want it to be true so bad. they have convinced themselves they are saving humanity that they ignore the mathematics...it's just so laughable...they are so stupid

don't you understand? do you think you can achieve utopia? it's a nice idea but human nature (greed) will ruin it every time...just look around you

sorry for continuing off topic

Well "Sarah" aside from predicating, or should I say plagiarizing your arguments based on Wikipedia and several other sites, you failed to "take Lino's points one at a time"..completely ignoring my central point that it is progressives, Liberals, that have improved the lives of common people and -not- raw capitalism.

As for S.S. I am well aware of the numbers here, In my case I have lived frugally, saved a substantial amount and will probably not need S.S. benefits.

Reality is that the benefit commencement age will probably have to reach as high as 72 in the nest 15-18 years. With the decline in smoking and healthier diets and exercise people will live and work longer. FAct is that taxes will also have to go up and the deductions/exemptions that have some 47% of Americans pay NO tax at all will have to be addressed.

http://www.businessinsider.com/coincidence-47-of-americans-dont-pay-income-tax-45-think-tax-is-just-fine-2010-4

The massive loss in corporate tax revenue that stem from offshore shelters and accounting dodges are another major burden that will be forced to change...Though I am not holding my breath on this one.

Sorry for this topic going off the tracks Q-C.

Wow! Now Lino is doing his best to summon up the spirit of George Orwell! Accusing someone else of plagiarizing their arguments? This coming from a guy who hasn't had an original thought in years, and is a master of "cut and paste journalism"? Pot - meet kettle!

my central point that it is progressives, Liberals, that have improved the lives of common people and -not- raw capitalism

So all those scientists who create drugs to treat cancer and other medical conditions, all the innovations in computer technology, the invention of the automobile, assembly line manufacturing techniques, satellites, etc. etc., and all those wonderful things that have extended the human life span that you alluded to in your screed....

All that "stuff" was created by "enlightened", "progressive", "Liberals"?

Who'd have thunk?

FAct is that taxes will also have to go up and the deductions/exemptions that have some 47% of Americans pay NO tax at all will have to be addressed.

And governments will also have to make cuts in various areas - military spending, social programs, etc. etc.

The massive loss in corporate tax revenue that stem from offshore shelters and accounting dodges are another major burden that will be forced to change

Tax avoidance and tax evasion are two different things. The first is legal, the second not.

Typical liberal defense to attack me and say I plagiarized, trying to diminish my position, the numbers are fact. Socialist programs like Social Security do not work they are a scheme. As for you, I am happy that you are wealthy and do not need Social Security. I hope you are paying your share of the taxes that are needed so those who are not as well off as you can collect their benefits. Maybe you would consider sending part of your wealth to Social Security Trust Fund to help assure those who need the benefit will have the resources. To me that would be a very progressive forward thinking thing to do. Oh and by the way Medicaid and Medicare are also broke contributing to the closing of hospitals throughout our city. We all better pray that a disaster of any kind with multiple casualties doesn’t hit because there will be no place to go. That also sounds very progressive to me.

"Socialist programs like Social Security do not work they are a scheme."

Screw that shit!!!! If it weren't for SS I would have to financially support my mother right now. She lost $40,000 during this financial melt down recently and now she is literally broke. If it weren't for SS I would have to support her which I already do somewhat. She would also have to go on welfare and everything else.

So you know what? SS does do some good. You don't get back nearly what you pay into it but at least it's something. In my book something is better than nothing!!!

It's always people who are financially secure who say this! If you were broke and old you would be more than happy for that check every month!

Be it liberal, democrat, republican, socialist or whatever. In the USA we are all in the same boat and we all need to work together to solve these problems or we will all be broke and then there won't be anything anybody can do about it!!!

Uh.."Sarah" it wasn't hard to smoke your plagiarism out. I had read these exact words before and all I had to do was paste a few of them into Google and low-and-behold:

Let's try:"During 2008, the fund held $2.4 trillion in government bonds—essentially "IOUs" or claims on the government's general fund or tax revenue"

We get:

http://community.nytimes.com/comments/www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/business/economy/25social.html?permid=79

Etc. Don't feel too bad about it, you dogmatics do this all the time whenever word from on-high (Limbaugh-Hanutty) comes down and I am used to it.

Next time just include the references.

Is isn't "journalism" to back one's assertions up with -references- but thanks for counting me into a noble profession just the same.

"All that "stuff" was created by "enlightened", "progressive", "Liberals"?

A lot of them were. these people were educated some understood the responsibility of having great wealth and influence. Then there was Henry Ford...

And now for a real Dunce Gem: "Tax avoidance and tax evasion are two different things. The first is legal, the second not."

Your naivete is in full-feather here.

Here is more of that cut 'n paste stuff you hate:

http://public.findlaw.com/taxes/tax-law/tax-law-basics.html

Quoting:And there are purely political reasons for tax laws. Many special interest groups, such as oil companies, horse breeders, broadcasters, insurance companies, and even major league baseball clubs, have gotten tax laws passed that are designed to give them special treatment. These special provisions of the tax code outnumber the laws of general application."

See? Evasion is merely a question of who writes the laws.

You haven't made a "substantial debate" just plagiarized (again that word) verbatim from articles on the net and framed them as your own.

"I am hoping that the voters have realized what “like minded individuals” like yourself are doing to our country and in November we will see a great conservative victory to put an end to all your idiotic socialist, communist and PROGRESSIVE ideals."
