From the Queens Courier:
If Governor David A. Paterson’s current proposed budget cuts are enacted, six senior centers will close in Queens, leaving stranded thousands of disappointed grandmas and grandpas.
Centers such as Forest Park in Woodhaven, Kew Gardens, SAGE/Queens in Jackson Heights, Korean-American in Flushing, Bell Park in Queens Village and LeFrak Senior Citizen Center in Corona will all shut down.
The looming budget cuts have forced the centers not on the chopping block to also feel unsure about whether they can afford to stay open.

It's time for folks to step up and help out the elders if the centers close. In the choice between old folks or kids...I think we have to vote to for the kids.
We vote for elders cause they vote. The kids are offspring of illegals.
Only good for photo ops.
Seems like 'the boys' in the smoke filled want to make sure every 'i' is dotted and 't' is crossed.
People in Queens are starting to get a little frisky this year. It seems tired bullshit can only get you so far, even in Queens.
The old folks will get their money and vote for 'the boys', but this year, 'the boys' want to play with them a little just to remind the olders who 'Big Daddy' really is.
The old goats better smarten up and stop voting for every Democrat that brings cake to the Senior Center at election time. Seniors don't realize how powerful they are. They always show up to vote. Let's hope they turn the tables on the usual suspects (incumbents). Vote them all out. Just remember - No Cost Of Living Increase, but all the politicians got their raises. Send them a message. If money needs to be cut, the first thing they'll do is close the centers. You can bank on it.
