Bloomberg insults parents

From the NY Times:

Responding to a lawsuit filed on Wednesday seeking to prevent the city from closing 22 poor-performing schools, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg made a comment that has sparked outrage among some community leaders.

Mr. Bloomberg, appearing on his weekly radio show, began by criticizing two plaintiffs in the suit — the teachers’ union and the N.A.A.C.P. — saying the groups “should know better” and that allowing the schools to remain open would be “unconscionable.”

But it was the way he referred to the parents who have continued to support these schools — which overwhelmingly serve poor, minority and immigrant students, including many who live in homeless shelters — that caused the anger.

“Unfortunately there are some parents who just come from — they never had a formal education, and they don’t understand the value of education,” Mr. Bloomberg said on the program, which is broadcast on WOR-AM (710).

He went on to observe: “The old Norman Rockwell family is gone.”

WOW....he is getting crazier as the days go on - his mouth is really unchecked, and is obviously driven by his feelings. Some times you just have to know when to shut up....

And if he ran again, guess what, you'd all reelect him!

And they said that president Ronald Regan wasn't playing with a full deck during his last term.

Befuddled Bloomberg dropped his hole card in the toilet.

Hey....
this is what you get when you all elected M. R. B. to "save" our city....an arrogant....aloof....out of touch elitist who's beginning to go a little senile.

Honestly, though. He's totally right.

These parents expect the teachers to raise their kids.

I did well in School because my parents were there to add to my public school education. The kids who didn't have that support network, struggled harder to survive academically - if they cared, anyway. And if your parents don't care...why would you?

As a kid what's your normal defense-response to something? "My momma said this" or "My Dad said this"

My mother worked as a teacher in East New York. Those kids didn't give an "f" and neither did their parents.

Bloomberg is totally right.
