86-year old Ozone Park furniture store closing

From NY1:

The recession has forced Sukon's, an 86-year-old family-owned children's furniture store in Ozone Park, to close in the end of October.

Maybe they should chase the landlord with bats onto the belt parkway or gangassault him with the bats.

that stinks-- I remember buying my daughter's carriage in there-- they had a great selection of carriages and strollers. Unfortunately, I think these days its easier for new parents to buy everything for their baby at a one stop store, such as Baby's-R-Us--and probably cheaper. I'm sure in this economy people are recycling strollers, baby furniture, etc. whereas in the good old days they would have bought new.

The sign's colorful lettering always was a welcoming beacon on Woodhaven.

How about if they gang assault my landlord instead?

It's on Cross Bay. Same road, different name along that stretch. But your sentiments are right on the mark, George. Another loss for long-time Queensites. What crap can we expect in its place?

This is a pity, I really like this kind of children furniture stores. Yeah, today you can buy everything in stores like IKEA, thus shops like this have no real chance to survive.
