Citywide crap slideshow

The results are in! WNYC asked listeners to submit their ugly building photos to them for a contest. Queens Crap is woefully underrepresented, although the eyesore parking garage at Queens Plaza with the phragmites growing atop did make the listeners slide show...

There are truly so many hidious buildings in Manhattan - try looking at the newly opened NYT building on 40th and 8th as a recent new entry. It's covered in a steel curtain - get closer and look into the lobby - wherever they found the architect - Renzo Piano - they should send him back and get a refund.

I believe that Tishman Speyer and crew are planning to replace this structure with yet another oversized glass tower. It makes lots of sense to replace a parking structure with a tower that will bring hundreds of cars into the area causing even more traffic and parking headaches. This building is fully made of reinforced concrete, whatever glass tower replaces it will have a nice curtain wall which will get smashed to pieces in a hurricane. This is one of the few buildings that could survive a hurricane or tornado fully intact. It may not be pretty but it has fortress quality construction. When will the madness stop, why does everything have to be replaced by fifty floor towers?

Damn! Why doesn't this neat stuff ever get out to us - by not submitting ugly Queens buildings, our boro, once again, falls off the radar as we are being raped.

Have lots of newspaper ads on ugly new buildings in Queens, though. That never seems to be something difficult to get the word out.

I say, why should us humans monopolize on it? I make it a point to use those ads on the bottom of my birdcage.

It looks like a pasture on that rooftop.
Shouldn't bovine Shulman be grazing there?
