Crime up even more

From the NY Post:

Serious crime went up again last week, and the NYPD is developing emergency strategies to tackle the sharp rise in murders and shootings this year.

Overall crime rose 3.5 percent for the week ending Sunday at midnight, compared to the same period in 2009, according to the latest figures.

The number of shootings -- up 19 percent this year -- remained constant last week, but there were 12 murders compared to 10 last year.

Burglaries were up 9.5 percent and robberies rose 8.2 percent.

Police brass have ordered commanders to bring in other units and manpower where violence is erupting.

They said they're confident that even with a thinning Blue Line, they can keep crime levels down to levels not seen since the early 1960s.

Underground, the NYPD and the MTA are scrambling to get their entire array of security cameras in working order. Only 2,270 out of 4,313 are currently in operation.

Kelly keeps making sure that academy classes are less than 50% white. He loves the diversity of having people from all over the world who haven't a clue police ny.The whole cpr thing is bullshit.Policing isn't a polite activity.Keep hiring cunts, runts and people who can barely speak or understand english, and keep the returning veterans out, good move. It's gonna be a fun summer!

Isn't it amazing how all these years the Mayors Office and NYPD have reported crime going DOWN. And now at the mention of NYPD layoffs (again I say MENTION) that crime is on the rise....me thinks I smell another NUMBERS GAME.

I hate the NYPD. They are all incredibly stupid. Don't they have to have at least one year of college? And from what I've seen all the non-white cops are racist against whites. They actually take the side of the trash against the person who called the cops on the trash. I hate the NYPD.

Sure it's a numbers game. They fudge the numbers to serve whatever purpose is the current priority. Right now, the purpose is to protect the agency from budget cuts,- protecting the agency not protecting us is the game - so now crime figures will show crime is up. The agency gets what it wants and the number fudging will then show crime is down. Forget the NYPD figures at all times, they never reflect any truth.

well from the entire nypd thank you for filling us in on are intelligence levels. furthermore, please inform any responding officer, hopefully me, of you views of how stupid we are. This way I can clear another job off my screen quickly and allow you to be pummeled by whoever your problem is with. Better yet just lose that 911 number you probably dial non stop for ridiculous problems. Again the New York City Police Department thanks you. Hope I used proper grammar for an idiot.
