The sign language guy, he "signs" in English? If so, what do the deaf speakers of Spanish, Chinese, Polish, Urdu, Creole, Russian et al. in our diversity-world do? Just gape at the tube? Seems to me if all these sign language guys and gals we see are just "signing" in English, that's a case for making English the national language. Am I right or wrong? If not, you'll probably see a chorus line of signers up there soon on the stage once the Esperanto deaf win that lawsuit.
Shoveling snow puts a strain on your heart and raises your blood pressure. Your body wasn't built for this, no natter how good a shape you are in. A bodybuilder in his 30s dropped after shoveling his house in Buffalo a few years back. Be warned!
Winds were blowing at 30 to 40 mph yesterday. It just makes no sense to shovel in those conditions, trying to shovel and breathe is like having a plastic bag over your head. It's incomprehensible that people would still drive out there, unless they had a hummer or a tank.
Always very sad. Too bad they don't say they will suspend ticketing for not clearing the sidewalk!
Of course hiring someone or asking a neighbor to help are good alternatives, as long as DuhBlazio gets his money!
Reminds me of years ago I was working in an ED and a 40 something year old man came in after being found dead in the snow while shoveling. His two teenaged sons were inside watching TV. Very sad.
There was a guy shoveling in front of a building, looked like a storefront, and he was being interviewed and he told the correspondent that he already shoveled three times. He was the only one out there and he seemed obligated or from the looks of it, forced to do it.
The notion being supposedly to avoid being fined, but it was 5 PM and it's certain that the city wasn't sending any inspectors out there to write tickets or even take bribes.
His employer must be a real ball busting little prick

We Went from 30 inches of snow and now it's 40 degrees,sunny and no wind.
