Another corrupt pol convicted

From The Politicker:

Bronx Assemblyman Eric Stevenson has been convicted on federal corruption charges, a spokesperson for U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara confirmed this evening.

Mr. Stevenson was convicted on four counts stemming from charges that he drafted legislation and performed official government services in exchange for more than $20,000 in cash bribes–the latest in a long string of corruption arrests hitting the state’s lawmakers.

In a statement, Mr. Bharara vowed to keep investigating pols “until government in New York is cleaned up.”

“As a unanimous jury swiftly found, Assemblyman Stevenson brazenly betrayed the public that elected him,” he said. “Graft and greed are intolerable in Albany, and we will go to trial as often as we have to until government in New York is cleaned up.”

How about going after the rest of them? Surely there must be an easy dozen or so.

NO WAY! This is impossible. Politicians are the most law abiding citizens around.

I wonder "WHO" voted for himy, because I'll tell one thing, IT WASN'T ME and it will NEVER be me.

Have fun with legal criminals.

Well you might as well investigate every single one of them, because let's face it, New York City has a crap load of corrupt elected officials. They talked about how corrupt New Orleans is or was, hell, NYC has that beat.

Now if we had more Tony Avellas, then NYC would be a great place to live.

When does Halloran's trial begin or is he warbling and rolling on others?

Also, why is Danny boy still using NYC Council license plates on his Jaguar?

Didn't Aunt Esther (Shirley Huntley) supposedly catch a few of them on the wire she was wearing? Why haven't more of them fallen yet?

Just try to start or expand a private business without having a legislator (or two) bought and paid for, to deal with the zoning, permits, regulations, licenses, and the other crap.

The "system" which has given the government the ability to interfere anywhere at any time makes corruption inevitable.

As long as the electeds and bureaucrats get to pick the winners and losers, this will go on.

Which explains why they invented 311 - they are too busy to deal with your concerns.

Halloran and his fellow defendants have been filing motions to dismiss various charges, which has delayed the trial.

That's true, and the feds are also dragging out the process through "ongoing discovery." Meaning, they're still investigating the case.

Word on the street is that Dan is rolling on the rest of them all. There might be ties to a local republican club president and Paul Vallone himself.

Roll Dan roll and take them all down
