Assemblywoman wants developers to project number of children

From DNAinfo:

Developers would have disclose how many extra children would enroll in local schools if their building went ahead under a new bill proposed by a state assemblywoman.

New York State Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal, who represents the Upper West Side, said she introduced the bill because she believes new residential developments that have attracted thousands of families with children have pushed the city's education system to its limits.

The bill would affect all new residences, no matter what the size, she said.

"We are now facing such a huge crisis in overcrowding in the public schools, on the West Side, the East Side, in other boroughs," Rosenthal told DNAinfo. "The problem is only going to get bigger."

The new bill would require developers to include projected figures of families and children early in the development process.

These early figures would assist the Department of Education when it comes to long term planning for schools, Rosenthal said.

"It would add another dimension to the tools they (the DOE) use, which are obviously a little faulty now," Rosenthal said.

Notice that this Assemblywoman is from Manhattan. You would never hear any member from Queens expressing concern about overcrowding in schools and overdevelopment in their neighborhoods. That's because all the Queens politicians are getting kickbacks from the developers. They don't care if kids are crammed into schools so they can't learn. They only care about how much money they are going to make. It's criminal.

Where is Queens Civic Congress in all this?

Oh thats right, hosting love fest events with the postal clerks that run Queens.

Can we nominate her to replace Shumer for Senate?

This was proposed 80 years ago: the Board of Ed sign off on any development that they had seats for it.

That would bring this plague of development to a quick halt.

I am certain the the developers and their buddies, the bankers, lawyers, landlords and others of similiar ilk who live in her heavily Landmarked district and profit from this Cult of Development will talk her (or her next opponent) to their senses.

Oh! Here is a good thought. Lets see how the urban studies groups in NYC handle this one?

How much you want to bet that they will simply ignore it??!?!

Well, in most cases, it would be easy to count.

Look at the floor plans, and each bedroom beyond the master = on child.

3br apt = 2 kids
4br = 3 kids

etc, etc

But seeing as how this is Sanctuary City, each additional bedroom often become home to 3 or 4 "extended family" members, for a small fee, of course.

No guys, you don't understand.

Kids, especially immigrant kids makes for great photo ops.

Quality of education? Good question but in this context hardly important.

Hell, they don't know what is really going on - like they don't live in Chevy Chase you know.

Besides, where they come from this is Harvard.

Great! Only fifteen years too late. That's a whole generation for those counting at home.

very few young parents join civic associations. they are more inclined to be P.T.A. followers of the U.F.T.
they walk in goose step.

buses are the tool of the D.O.E. (Joel Klein). he controls the enrollment of schools, where needed, to hire teachers.

it has been reported, and white washed, that the higher achieving elementary schools in Queens are corrupt.
officials allegedly are taking bribes from parents to accept their child. many are faking their residence documents to cross districts. the school officials do not care,as long as a body with $20,000. in taxes ,comes with it.
the politicians look the other way. they must have the U.F.T. union help and money ,at re-election time. they depend on yellow bus company donations, and who knows the rest of the story ?

your tax contribution /year to D.O.E. in n.y.c. is$21 BILLION . some elite parents have bought their way into schools with 16 pupils /class.

The way you write, you must be the product of the NYC DOE.

If you're (that's the general you, including you, the above moron) trying to prove a point, it really helps if you write in proper English.
