Is this the skinniest house in Queens?

Wow, that's one narrow house, especially for an unattached one. Is it a one family? There are 2 doors...
The DOB website says it is a one-family, but it was converted illegally into 2 offices and one residential unit. There are some cramped quarters in the shadow of Queens Supreme Court in Jamaica.

Maybe this is where Stephen King got the idea for "Under the Dome."

How could this get sliced in half without the rest of it falling down?

I looked at the aerial views going back to 1924 and the house had always been there in that width.

Amazing. But I can't believe it was built that way.

How wide is it?

It's used as a half-way house.

Does the DOB actually serve any purpose, because this continuous abuse of the system keeps happening over and over again. Why have a DOB if it is not going to enforce laws and see that this type of thing (illegal apartments, etc.)does not happen. Time to rethink that department and make it independent of the government.

This guy needs to buy some air rights and expand.

Was 2 narrow like this on Summerfield street (Northeast corner @ Seneca) with a big side yard and front entrances.
A nasty cinder-block box with bowling pin balcony's stands there now

Does the occupant have to take a shit sideways?

The house I knew on Summerfield in Ridgewood had a 15 inch wide creaky stairs, the bathtub was in the kitchen and the toilet was a little box extending out of the back of kitchen (ground level).
Closet of wine or whiskey? barrels, jugs, jars were under the staircase and the beds were upstairs sideways.
It was really interesting almost laid out like a RV but 1900s !!!
