From City Hall:
Confirming suspicions that have circulated since he informed supporters in April that he would be suspending his campaign, Rep. Anthony Weiner is ending his mayoral aspirations for 2009, according to a source with knowledge of the decision. He will not seek the Democratic nomination for the fall.
Indications began circulating among his circle of advisors and supporters last week, with final word coming on Memorial Day. He plans to inform his finance committee with a conference call late Tuesday night. A press conference to elaborate is planned for Wednesday morning outside of his parents' Brooklyn home.
Boy that looks like quite the following behind him!
But he still clings to our wallets for his next meal.
He demands to be on the public payroll because no sensible private business would allow this tantrum throwing socialist on the property.
When will we all catch on to this very lazy parasite?
We look forward to dumping this very 3rd rate tax & spender on the first Tuesday of November in 2010.
The real problem is campaign spending. Who can go up against the Mayor Billionaire who will spend 100M this years race?
lmao, here in maspeth we didn't get a bloomass but we got a weiner, who drops out the next day. lolololol.......
oh my! please let there be a god watching over Tony Avella and he wins this race.
No big loss--that windbag....
Weiner is a loser! Good riddance!
Tony Avella is looking better every day!
Was he ever really in the race? Weiner was playing it as coy with a "challenge" to Bloomberg as Mario Cuomo was with a possible presidential bid back in the '80s. I guess that he finally got the word to bow out from his mentor, Chuck Schemer, er, Schumer.
