Council member's excuse is that Jamaica "has a dumping problem"

From Cleanup Jamaica Queens:

WHY is illegal dumping a challenge for the district? Well, that is the statement that Councilman I. Daneek Miller stated to NY1, “Illegal dumping is a challenge for the district”.

BUT why Mr. Miller, an all white area does not have an illegal dumping issue like Jamaica. Plus this is nothing new, this takes place all over the community and has been taking place for years and decades. But when you have elected officials, community leaders and church leaders who do very little to nothing for their community, when you have bad neighbors, like this sh!tty Family Dollar store, when you have a lack of enforcement, when you have a low amount for fines (this dollar store was fined a measly $100) and when there is not any kind of common sense (just put up a damn fence and install security cameras), this kind of sh!t will continue to go on and on and on in this community.

So Sanitation, elected officials and even this sh!tty neighbor dollar store all say “we are aware of the situation”. Well, that is the standard answer for all quality of life issues. The issue is the addressing and solving of the fucking problem. I love the line from the @sshole spokeserson for this sh!tty Family dollar:

A spokesperson for Family Dollar thanked us for bringing it to his attention. He says he’s gathering more information to quote “address this concern promptly.”

REALLY, F*CKING REALLY. I mean this is your damn property, you mean you needed NY1 to bring this to your attention and you need to gather more information. WHAT F*CKING INFORMATION. Your property looks like it is from some third world country, what more information do you need @SSHOLE?

It's the people stupid. Same problem since 60s. 50 years of waste.

Recently someone wrote a comment on the Cleaup Jamaica blog, saying that pointing out crap like this is "petty". This seems to be the feeling of a great many folks, and this is why we Queens residents are wading through piles of garbage. I don't know how ppl could have such a lack of self-respect that they don't mind living like this. CleanupJamaica Joe and Pam Hazel and you, Crappy, are fighting for this nonsense to end. The pile that was outside Family Dollar was absolutely appalling; the store owner and the local officials should ashamed of themselves for letting it get as bad as it did.

Local community leaders dont do shit but strut around looking like royalty. Thats whats wrong with 'electeds' nowadays. They think they won the lottery because a few brainwashed residents voted for them. This example of illegal dumping can be seen all throughout Queens, especially in Flushing & Corona. Keep up the pressure!!

Yeah....a dump of low class people!
In other words....THIRD WORLD GHETTO!

Alas, the Jamaica 'dumping' problem occurred LONG before any physical garbage and debris arrived. It's the hyper-corrupt, entrenched and establishment-rigged, two-party-machine-failed system that continues to churn out intensely incompetent, FOR SALE representatives who don't lead by honest, ethical example (and never have)! That's the REAL 'dumping' problem!

Get rid of the lazy, arrogant and intensely incompente and unresponsive subhuman trash (and the party-machine-failed bosses who control the carnage), and then maybe there will be some modicum of hope to work with shopowners, the community and activists at large to stop polluting ALL of Queens with 'Noise & Sight' pollution that adversely affects all quality of life that is unprecedented (and disgracefully shameful and otherworldly), to date!

Piles of rotting garbage, feces, urine, used hypodermic needles are public health issues. They carry disease, infection, death.

What I would like to know is why isn't anyone pressuring HPD and Sanitation to do their jobs? Sad. They get such large paychecks and do nothing. Has anyone done agency complaints for the different agencies? That might get some action.

Good Luck- Keep up the GOOD WORK

Those wall murals really show up the garbage dump that is Jamsica. Has been for 40 years and running.

Huh? Where's the "Dollar Store" crap? I see home trash on the streets.

We need underground trash storage already. The rest of the world has it.

To Last Anonymous: Underground trash storage is not the answer, when there is STILL WAY TOO MUCH 'ABOVE GROUND' political trash, all of whom don't work for a living (and never HAVE)!

Get rid of and fumigate the bigger stench first, and then the rotting garbage will be easier to tackle, when all Jamaica publicly electeds finally get their crooked fingernails dirty because of REAL and URGENTLY DEMANDED work)——versus lunch-and-a-manicure as a stressful day!

Until the party-machine-failed system busts up this entrenched DNC party of PRIVATE SPLENDOR, then there will ALWAYS be plenty of PUBLIC SQUALOR for everyone else to languish, in perpetuity. And, the public be damned (again and STILL)!

This is the problem I see with Jamaica queens and their dumping/garbage problem. I think people are reporting the problems to sanitation and even the NYPD and when the compliant is investigated they say there is nothing wrong and closes the complaint. To many times this has happened so now people don't bother because they know nothing is going to get done. We need to fix this first before anything else. They need to their dam jobs.

this is exactly why no one wants to live in or work around Jamaica. I did used to work in area briefly and hated it. I don't know how to hell people can live there and just have no kind of pride whatsoever to try to work together cohesively as a community and keep that shit clean. Same thing happens in Corona and no one does anything about it, as far as a community. There is no pride of ownership in either one of these neighborhoods. People are content to keep the house looking like crap and not sweep up in front or put the trash out right or make the house just have some kind of standard curb appeal. NYPD and sanitation can only do so much. I've seen people throw trash on the street right in front of cops and sanitation workers picking up the trash and They don't care because the aren't stiff enough fines for this kind of thing so they're not even afraid of the police or sanitation anymore. The city is so overrun with problems as a whole( which outnumber any type of law-enforcement), do you really think the cops or sanitation is going to waste time on someone littering? No. And the people know it. that's why they do it. we all have to work together to make this happen. Terminate problem officials and elect new officials that really care about the community. When you think about it there shouldn't be any run down communities anywhere if it's just a standard law and order put into place to make people adhere to the rules about keeping clean or they are going to get a stiff fine. This is all white people thing it should be a human decency thing. A commonsense thing. Then we won't have mice and cockroaches and rats and shit running all over the city. Put cameras everywhere watch how much things change for the better. But then you'll have all these people complaining about big brother and all that so it's a lose lose situation. Best bet is just to move away from here altogether, Because it's going down by the head and all five boroughs and even part of Long Island now aren't safe anymore .....
