A Frank Lloyd Crap special?

You might want to check out the progress of the construction of the Hunters Point Library over at Curbed. The photos are quite something.

Billions being spent on libraries.

These monuments to the past are just another waste of your tax dollars. You can get more booKs on your smartphone than anywhere else.

How long untill we hear again about the lack of funding for libraries???

This garish platinum turd box makes sense aesthetically with the area, really. What with the stupid landmark pepsi cola ad, the two inexplicable redundant long island signs and of course the affordable luxury tower pestilence overlooking them. What also makes total sense since the city and selected parts of the boroughs have undergone bizarre changes that only resembles exclusivity, superficiality and sterility.

I am sure that scumbag lowlife Galante envisioned himself smoking cubans, imbibing 20 year old scotch and hobnobbing with his equally arrogant and corrupt peers on the roof, since he turned the one at the central library into his personal high society hangout.

In all seriousness, who goes to the library for river and skyline views? Are they planning on closing this branch at 3 AM? And why would the city permit it in such and isolated spot? It's more likely this will be exploited for "events" of all sorts, with the usual suspects, the subliminally fascist uber wealthy class and cabal of developers, bank execs, venture and hedge fund firms, "talent" and marketing agencies, and the artists they prefer. And probably to be used for the electeds for secretive nefarious city planning for certain neighborhoods to arrange undesirable social programs like gerrymandering homeless people and heroin addicts.

Libraries now function as free daycare! Most and the libraries in Queens are filled with noisy kids every afternoon. When I asked a librarian go ask them to shut up I was old it wasn't politically correct! That is so not the case elsewhere in the country...Queens is filled with people that just get it!

Nobody told these people to have all these kids!

Wingspread is a house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright for Herbert Fisk Johnson, Jr. and built in 1938-1939 near Racine, Wisconsin. In a TV interview, the son telling the famous story of his father sitting at this table with distinguished guests, being dripped on his bald head by a rain roof leak, being furious, and calling Frank Lloyd Wright to complain. Frank Lloyd Wright's answer "Move your chair!"

Blame the librarians not the kids!! They have a job to do and if they are afraid to enforce the law then complain to the supervisor or head librarian.

Looks like a Kraut WWII pillbox on steroids!

Another example of how the Queens Library now serves the needs of the machine rather than the community - meet at the library to knock on doors in Philly with former library alum Van Bramer: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/events/view/4pfe6mxodw7p5zvo/
