Here you go, folks. Apparently this is a TV series. The latest installment is about LIC. Too bad the "expert tour guide" they interviewed in the first segment doesn't know that the graffiti artists' building has been called 5 Pointz for more than a decade and that the Phun Phactory moved to Brooklyn. Makes you wonder what other bullshit official tour guides are telling tourists that don't know any better. No mention that LIC still lacks basic amenities. But you can booze it up on a fake beach. Now that's living.
The woman hasn't a clue,She's been an airhead twinky for years. Did anyone catch the reference to Vernon Street early on in the video?
Not that it matters, but it was Vernon Avenue before it was Vernon Boulevard.
The video was posted 5/19 on cbslocal.com, and as in the piece, LIC is described there as New York's new "it" neighborhood.
The same webpage has a video, dated 5/12, calling Brooklyn's Vinegar Hill New York's latest "it" neighborhood.
Apparently NYC now has a new "it" 'hood on a weekly basis--52 a year.
That is so freakin' cool--think I'll celebrate with an artisanal locally-sourced shade-grown fair trade Twinkie. They must have one somewhere on Vernon Road...er, Vernon Drive...um, Vernon Way?
She is on NYC.gov
a friend of Terri Osborne...
another air head who's been occupying a fat patronage job for decades.
The county machine sure knows how to reward its incompetent servants.
I have to say I live in LIC and no longer agree that we're lacking amenities - and more are opening every day.
