Does anyone believe that DEP responded in 12 hours and failed to notice this vast street pond? It's been there for months! Do they not care about West Nile Virus? - anonymous

There has never been a response to any 311 call I've made. I've stopped calling it. Fool me once...

The cops pretend to respond as well. I've called on noisy neighbors and get an email 2 minutes later saying they responded and there was no problem. Meanwhile there is a huge party going on next door at 1:00 am on a sunday night.

There's no need to respond if nothing can be done to fix anything. The Rockaways are at (and soon to be, below) sea level. Only God can make water run uphill, last time I checked. Here's a recommendation-- move away, cuz nature's gonna keep coming as the years go by.

It can't be that the sewer needs cleaning out. Nah, let's blame sea level.
