New renderings for the upcoming dual-tower residential project, Gotham Point, located in the Hunters Point South neighborhood of Long Island City, were unveiled and the affordable housing lottery application has opened.

The development, announced two years ago, consists of two towers that will include 1,132 total residences with 75% of units priced at affordable rates, senior housing, shared amenities, community facility and retail space. Gotham Point’s South Tower, or Parcel G, will be 33 stories tall and is estimated to be completed in late 2021 between Second Street and Newtown Creek.

The North Tower, or Parcel F, will stand at 57 stories and is expected to be completed in 2022.

Gotham Organization and RiseBoro Community Partnership, the developers, envisioned Gotham Point to be a mixed-income, multigenerational residential community.

The 847 rent-stabilized units will be available to a wide range of incomes, with maximum income limits ranging from $25,080 to $137,940 for an individual and from $35,790 to $196,845 for a household of four. Minimum income limits range from $15,806 to $73,166 for an individual and from $23,692 to $126,686 for a household of four.

According to YIMBY, a total of 98 homes will be set aside for low-income seniors in an 11-story dedicated wing, equipped with its own personal lobby space, a lounge and laundry room on each floor, as well as a library and a community room with a shared pantry. RiseBoro will also be leading special programming for the senior community, with senior residences available to individuals across income levels from $15,806 to $85,920.

Oof, the "low income" apartments! I live in an LIC "fancy" building, and we suffer from the low income, Progtard apartment imposition. Basically, they ok, but you do suffer small indignities like people who reek of pot smoke (often middle aged). Most of them don't bother wearing masks anymore, which is fine by me since masks are total nonsense. But it's a building rule and I don't like people who flout the rules. A few are just sort of menacing looking. Also, many smoke pot in their apartments, which is technically a lease violation. But as the late great Bob Grant used to say, some people have protective skin coloring. Things that might get a lighter shaded person in trouble are ignored.

But what can you do. It's baked into the cake.

If you're not in, you can't win!

Your building should install a "poor door" for the proles.

Pot-smoking and menacing Progtards are what Tiffany Caban wants more of.

Funny they don't do that for the East Side or Hudson Yards. LIC should demand one policy for the entire city especially mentioning those enclaves.

The idea of exporting the poor to elite communities like the Hamptons is perfect.

LIC is not yet a solid elite community, but a community whose potential demographics put fear in the Queens Democratic Machine which is the reason their boy Mystery Mike put the kibosh on Annable Basin.

The Great President Ronald Reagan once said: "Government is not the answer to our problems. Government IS the problem."

Reagan was also a rat. He ratted out writers and actors during the McCarthy witch hunt. He also traded arms for hostages. He should of been impeached. He made up fake stories such as the welfare queen anecdote. He implemented trickle down economics. He was a b actor who became President that had no real vision as a leader except to fight the Soviet Union.

The greatest generation survived due to the government and the new deal. If you’re a boomer, your parents were given a life line. Be thankful that true leaders like FDR used the government to keep Americans from starving. Learn your history instead of posting slogans you see on your feed that’s designed to manipulate you. That goes for the left. Think critically.

Think critically after this naked worship of St FDR, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Surely you jest!

As for Mc Carthy's "witch hunt" we now live in a society that's enduring a far worse version where Progs are hunting for "racists", "fascists" and other figments of their fevered imaginations under every bed. At least decades later Mc Carthy was proven right when the archives were opened-the same will not be said in the future of today's "crusaders".
