Halloran, Vallone team up to screw Bayside

Senator Tony Avella expressed his total dismay that, despite assurance from City Council Members to the contrary, the City Council’s Land Use committee approved today the proposed construction of a 416-Seat Primary School Facility on 48th Avenue, between 210th and 211th Street, where Keil Brothers is currently located. According to the committee members, Council Member Daniel Halloran and Council Member-elect Paul Vallone both came out in support of the proposed school. The full Council will vote tomorrow on the proposal.

While a new school facility may be beneficial, the proposed site is situated in the middle of a quiet, residential neighborhood that already includes PS 31 a few blocks away. The school would be facing the backyards of 31 homes and will significantly alter the quality of life of residents. Neither Council Member Halloran nor Council Member-elect Vallone had solicited the community’s input before making a deal with the School Construction Authority to move ahead with the proposed school location.

Avella stated, “I think it is a disgrace that both the Council Member and the Council Member-elect, went behind the community’s back and made a deal to have the proposed school approved, while ignoring the will of the people who will be most affected by the new school.”

“I simply do not understand why Council Member Daniel Halloran's opinion was even taken into account in this situation, seeing as he is busy fighting disturbing corruption charges and is obviously out of touch. It is even more saddening to see a newly elected City Council member going against the local community before even taking office! I am afraid this just sets an extremely bad precedent for the duration of Paul Vallone's tenure in public office,” concluded Avella.

"...the community's voice isn't being heard, and that it's coming up for a vote in a month and we might get a school that we don't want." - Paul Vallone's lie about opposing Kiel Bros. school

What?? Paul Vallone and Dan Halloran doing dirty politics behind peoples back?? NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!

Let's hear from all those stupid Valloney Balloneys who had his lawn sign up all these months.

THE SHEEPLE HAVE SPOKEN NOW THEY CAN REAP WHAT THEY SOWED......

This is just he beginning. I, along with Debbie Markel have already put out homes up for sale. You should do the same.

Community Board 11 voted against this school being built and the neighbors vehemently opposed it.

So... Stinky and the Witch say yes, please do, go right ahead, thumbs up.

CD 19 residents you have been tricked and screwed and now the joke is on you.

Maybe next time you will actually do research on your candidates before you vote.

Let the sell out begin.

Why Vallone was elected: obviously, not enough 19th District voters read this blog.

You know that feeling of dread you wake up with when you drank too much the night before and you remember crazy stuff and start hoping that you only dreamt it and you try to fool yourself that it really didn't happen.....

Guess what... Stinky won the election. We have to bear that feeling for 4 more years.

Ughhh these 2 are some team. Who voted for these 2 in the first place?!?! Avella is the only one who cares for this community, glad he spoke out about this.

No conundrum-let these Whitestone-Bayside jackasses and sheeple who keep electing these assholes get what they be worthy of.
The intelligent and small homeowners who do not live on land-marked streets really need to start the course of action & concentration to SAVE THEMSELVES. This includes selling and getting the F_ out of NYC ASAP.
FACE THE HARD FACTS..NYC is longer what it was, democrats and a mayor who absolutely love and adores the tweeded are going to be in office forever.
Things WILL only going to get worse with no chance of reversing all of these "cancers" happening in tandum.

Kennedy and Johnson killed us 35 years ago with that Immigration act to bring the worlds refuse here, wipe out the GOP and create a one party socialist system. It was the plan all along. The garbage populate have become big numbers and dominate the voting base.
20+ million more (plus there huge extended family's) will be coming to NYC overnight if Obama, Schumer and mayor DeBlasio have their way.

Being outnumbered by sheeple and filth you really have no choice but "bend over" or get outta town. I say have your last look & ride around this big funeral parlor then leave it to the animals.

Ned sounds like a Vallonian out to get some cheap development property.

Walk down 12th Street in Old Astoria to see what the Vallones can do to a community.

What could have been pride for our borough instead is a shame.

Oh no, not a cutting edge grammar school for our children in Bayside.

OH THE AUDACITY. HOW COULD THEY DO THAT.

Where is the problem here? Does this site not realize that our schools are beyond over crowded. There are 30+ students per classroom... That is not a learning environment, that's a zoo.

I recall having 40 kids in my class and can read and write and add. Why can't kids today with only 30? Furthermore, the community has suggested other sites, they just asked that this one be taken off the table. Why is it so hard for the city to do what its taxpayers want?

Anonymous said...

Vallone has nothing to do with this, he doesn't even a freaking vote for crying out loud. Not to mention the SCA is a government agency, not a private development?

The real problem here is why do 50 councilmembers, all who have NO ties to this community, get to vote whether we get a new school or not?

______

Again, the problem here is that 50 CM get a say on this, instead of the community through a PTA vote, or some type of education round table.

And NO, a classroom size of 40 children is disgusting. You cannot learn in that environment. Sure, you may educated enough to read and write, but a large percentage of NY children are not.

Queens Crapper said...

I'm proof that you can learn in that environment, and so are all of my classmates as well as my parents and grandparents. Sorry, but "in that environment" means what? School?

The *problem* is that the entire neighborhood around this property was against the school as A) they already have an elementary school less than two blocks away and B) the site is going to directly impact three dozen adjacent properties.

During the campaign for the 19th Council District, Paul Vallone stated numerous times that he was opposed to the Keil Bros. site for a school and agreed with Community Board 11 - which voted 35 to 3 against - that it was an inappropriate location.

Vallone just took a giant dump on this section of Bayside by cutting a deal behind closed doors against the community's wishes.

Shades of things to come.

Congratulations to the residents of northeast Queens - you've got another Councilmember in the mold of Dan Halloran representing you for 4 more years.

Wrong.

If Vallone had stated his opposition to the school, the SCA would have held off on a vote until after he took office due to internal "home rule" guidelines that are respected by the City Council members.

Instead, because both Halloran - outgoing - and Vallone - incoming - support the school, it moved forward and will be voted on tomorrow by the full City Council.

Theres no parking in that area! Why should we have another school? I voted against these 2! All these damn asians voted for these 2! We dont need another school! All they have to do is enforce zoning laws! Theres 4 families living in 2 family houses here! Enforce zoning!

Anonymous said...

Enforce zoning laws in bayside .....tell these asians to stop sticking all of china or korea into these houses! Start cracking down on these rental properties as well! Im tired of living next door to renters...they dont take care of the properties!

Anonymous said...

There is so much more we could do with the money than to build another school! My daughter just graduated ps31 and their bathroom really needs updating! They have had the same sink in that bathroom since I went to school there 25 years ago!

Anonymous said...

Thirty kids! We had 48 in Catholic schools - 6 rows of 8. And we did not screw around or the nuns would kick our asses - and then our parents would for pissing off the nuns!

Bring back corporal punishment! No one ever dies from a ruler on the palm.

Not going to happen with the way the D.O.B. works. All they can do if denied entry for inspection is leave a form letter called a LS4 on the door and leave. We need to have yearly inspections of all homes to check if the occupancy complies with current zoning rules.

Enforce Zoning
==============================
LOL ha ha ha ha ha ha

Allow me to introduce you to your new councilman..... stinky

Bye bye zoning. Hello "Jobs for NY" a/k/a REBNY a/k/a "owns Paul Vallone" bye bye nice neighborhood.

Regardless about how we personally feel about the school's location, Vallone said yes to the school 1) behind closed doors 2) without hearing from the neighbors.

Remember, Vallone promised to reclaim and restore he just didn't say for who.

Paul Vallone lies about opposition to Keil Bros. school
-----------------------------------
Hey Crappie, thanks for posting that video, when stinky talks about the Keil bros. site he says "The community is not being heard"

So, he gets elected, goes behind the community's back and sells them out.

What a bunch of kool-aid swallowing idiots who voted him in.

I saw who attended all those debates, I only saw one occasion that an adult with a Vallone lawn sign showed up at the St. Kevin's debate.

Other than that none of his voters showed up to any of the debates, unless they got paid to or were campaign volunteers.

Aren't most schools are located in quiet residential nabes...like PS 32?

Baysiders deserve to get screwed. They always thought that they were immune from getting it in the tookas like us in Flushing always do.

Enjoy yourselves now, folks!

Don't give ned that much credit. He's just a common "A" hole that thinks that his pee is 25 year old bonded Scotch whiskey.

N-E-D...an acronym for never educated decently!

Even within snooty Bayside, there are expendable neighborhood sections.
"Bayside Gables" need not worry. That will always be protected.

But why is it that Avella is always a day late and a dollar short. Not that there's anything wrong with being a day late and a dollar short!

Welcome to the next four years of lies, deals with real estate developers, and total disregard for the constituents of Council District 19. Paul Vallone is a two-faced liar, who has only his own interests and greed in mind. He could care less about our neighborhoods. Saffran "called" him out on all of his lies in his campaign literature, yet few cared or read about Vallone's many failings and lies, so we'll now pay the price! We should all hold his feet to the fire and do everything possible to make certain he represents us as a full-time Councilman (HA!), and hears/ acts on our voices and concerns. Let's demand from him what he promised!

You sound upset lol. Nothing makes me happier than seeing you lunatic cry on these forums. I hope vallone bulldozes you property down personally.

And for mr. Avella, his days are numbered... he will likely lose his seat next year. I hear shaffran and an Italian are lining up to unseat him. Shouldn't be too hard considering how many bridges he burned. The only people who actually like him are a small group with no real power

Anonymous said...

Shaffran is not interested in running for office again and "an Italian" isn't running, either. Unless you mean Iannece who has no chance, ha ha ha... Nice try with the rumors.

Anonymous said...

Shaffran is done with Albany. That's why he ran for Council.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure the political hack shafran is done with Albany. He only ran for the council because dan is a dumb fuck. Shafran will be running for the senate
