Thugs murder man defending brother

From the NY Post:

A Queens man was stabbed in the heart last night while trying to rescue his little brother from a group of knife wielding thugs on a J train platform.

Dario Paiva, 27, raced to his brother Khristian’s side after the younger man was beset by four attackers near the 85th Street-Forest Parkway station, only to meet his doom.

The Woodhaven man was fatally stabbed around 11:30 p.m. after confronting his brother’s attackers on the subway platform. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jamaica Hospital. No arrests have been made.

I guess we should all walk around with a metal vest under our shirt.

Actually, it's illegal to own a vest in NY unless you are a police officer!

just how is one expected to defend themselves in NY ?

it's starting to feel like the '70's again.

He wouldn't have gotten stabbed if he hadn't confronted the thugs who beat up his brother. Get a description and call the police but don't follow them or else you will regret it.

I would never hesitate to defend my younger brother, I would have done the same thing

I always carry a blade and spring loaded club.
I believe its better to be judged 8 then carried by 6.
Anybody who believes the cops are going to be around when they need them is as crazy as some of these laws in NY.
A bag of diatomaceous pool filter sand in a pocket can be very effective

1-It is only illegal to wear a vest in the commission of a crime.Feel free to sweat your balls off.
2-Your jury is missing a few people.
3-If his mother called 911 instead of sending his brother,he may be alive. At the very least the cops would have had a good chance toto catch those scumbags.
4- If you insist on carrying a knife/weapon,learn how to use it and learn weapon(s) retention.Sucks being disarmed......

That's why you carry your pistol EVERYWHERE you go.

It is UN-AMERICAN to not own a firearm. REGARDLESS of whatever bullshit law this state passes to CONTROL YOUR RIGHT to bear arms.

.357 magnum is prefered.

where is the a.c.l.u when we need them. oh ,they only want to ban the right to defend ourselves when guns are involved,NOT KNIVES........

THE RELATIVES SEEMED WELL SPOKEN AND RATIONAL ,WHEN INTERVIEWED ON TV.

say a prayer for the young man.

i hope the cameras got clear images of the bastards who committed this crime.go get them n.y.p.d. and thank you for your efforts to protect us.

screw anti-self defense bloomberg and his liberal democrat, rino gang.

A 911 call would have been the the way to go.At least the abulance would have been rolling even if the cops were late in responding.....

This is terribly sad. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We hope the creeps that did this are brought to justice swiftly.

And of course the police are hardly ever seen on the train platforms and never on the trains. Yes there is horrible cut backs in police but there is too many sitting in the station house.

I know this young man since he was a little boy, the family used to live in my building which is Borinquen Houses in Brooklyn a long time ago. Wow, I'm so shocked to hear the news about his death. My prayers goes to the family and may him rest in peace.

My sympathies to the victims freinds and faimily. I lived in that area of woodhaven in the
80's and 90's As I remember the news report, the victum called his mother or his brother. The brother ran to the station. Did Anyone call 911 when the first call was placed?
In an emergency, please call 911 not relatives or friends. Even if your attacker gets to you before you complete the call, E911is supposed to be able to track you. Just in case, start the conversation with your location, (Forest Parkway Station J train If at home give address first), then state the emergency.
One reason I like the J train is that it is above ground here cell phones work and 911 can be called. I still believe that is a great deterent to crime. What happened to the plan to have cell reception in the subways?
