Brothers pilfer parking meter proceeds

From NY1:

Time has expired on two brothers' alleged efforts to rob some parking meters in Queens.

Police arrested Miguel and Terrence Williams yesterday morning after seeing them use a set of metal keys to steal quarters from two parking meters at Main Street and Maple Avenue in Flushing, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Police say they recovered 740 quarters totaling $185 from Miguel Williams.

Brown said the two were arrested in May for allegedly stealing nearly $2,000 in quarters from parking meters.

It is not clear where the brothers got the keys.

If convicted, they face up to a year in jail.

Maybe the police should be inspected for their theft of parking meter proceeds by disabling meters in front of the LIC post office for officers' civilian vehicle parking.

Once in jail, they can park themselves as long as they want.
