Now let's see them hit the the "clubs" on roosevelt ave and all the other third world shithole carts and trucks.Fuck this city and bloomberg!!!!!!

This is simply an outrage. These guys are vets in their own club. The city should just leave them alone and go after the "social clubs" that are springing up all over the area. Wait a minute those clubs are populated with a diverse crowd that we can't offend. Something really stinks here mayor BLOOMTURD.

They should start a food cart in front of the club. It would be a Great way to make money for the community and club. Never need to worry about inspections or summones.

The city is going after them because they are white, old and are easy to bully. While I agree that all establishments serving food and drink should be sanitary, it seems like the city has it in for this club. They would never go after the "diverse" social clubs that are all over Queens. That would be politically incorrect. Maybe the city wants the property and that is why they are harassing them.

they should run a clean shop. I think the DOH should work with them to get better, but they should still run it correctly.

A lesson to all my fellow vets who so valiantly served this degraded country and its worthless politicians.

gosh....now Sen. Schumer will not be able to parade with his democrat /lib political cronies carrying his name signs (against parade rules).

Cuomo did the same thing?????? repent Andrew....

where is he now that we Veterans need him?

"A lesson to all my fellow vets who so valiantly served this degraded country and its worthless politicians."

What does being a vet have to do with the cleanliness that all drinking and eating establishments must adhere to? It's ok to serve your fellow vets and possibly get them sick from health violations?

I understand the DOH can work with the fines but not the health conditions.

Fruit flies are nasty!!!

What's funny is the city is "protecting" the vets from danger.

For crying out loud, they have eaten "food" in far more dangerous environments. Imagine a KRat in the middle of a swamp full of mosquitoes snakes rats and leeches compared to what the city is complaining about.

Most of the doh regs are inane anyway. I'm sure almost everyone reading this would score a C or lower if an inspector came and visited your home kitchen while you were cooking or prepping food. Somehow we are not dropping like flies. If these guys survived the jungles of Vietnam and the conditions of war, I think they can handle straws or peanuts sitting out in the open, as well as most other violations.

You've never had a fruit fly in your house? Its total BS. They are killing all the VFW and American Legions with these inspections and fines. They are a bunch of men and women that get together and reminisce. Its not open to the public, they are serving each other and looking out for each other and their neighbors. None of you that are discusted by the way they run their place will never have to worry because you will never get in unless you're brave enough to have served your country. VFW's and AL Posts are non for profit organizations. These Vets are not going to go out to a public bar and sit with 20 year olds who are out looking for dates and willing to pay $13 for a drink. Legally they can smoke in their halls, that to me is more unsanitary.

Alcohol pretty much sterilizes anything that it's mixed with. Fruit flies are not a problem.

Classic bureaucratic hack harassment tactics. That it's coming at the behest of a "non-politician" just goes to show what a fraud Mr. 1 Buck a Year is.You lot elected him- unfortunately we've all got to put up with his BS!Just another point in the argument for recall. Only takes what 45,000 votes for the petition to be effective?

"Fruit flies are nasty!!!"

Funny, once you've been shot at with an AK-47 fruit flies aren't all that bad.

People like you are why I worry for my country. We used to be a country with broad shoulders (with apologies to John Steinbeck.)

Now we are afraid of fruit flies.

Throw the batards out! Better yet, don't let them in!!!!!!!!!

You're right. My bad ;)

Someone pointed out to me that many of these halls are rented out for events that involve food and drinks served to gen pop citizens.

Anonymous said...

When those rentals occur, outside catering is brought in, whether for food or beverages, so the conditions in the hall are pretty irrelevant. It's just Bloomturd looking for more $$$, like with all the traffic/motor vehicle stops lately, NYPD isn't just looking to show off their new low frequency siren add-on and their snazzy blue lights! No tax hikes, huh?

Any hall party or gathering I have been at, drinks have been served at the regular bar, or at a bar set up by the regular staff of the hall. It doesn't bother me one bit, but outside people do get served there.

This is no less than "legalized" extortion. The DOH should help the Vets' Club, not vilify and fine it. I smell a rat and it's not in the club. I bet similar clubs in Nassau and Suffolk counties are left alone not treated so horrendously and shaken down by an "agency" for money. This is typical of that faggotty tyrant Bloomberg's administration.

Looks like none of the balless pols are comimg to there aid??????
