Queens men accused of grease theft

From CBS New York:

Two Queens men are accused of trying to steal used cooking oil from a New Jersey restaurant.

Police say they caught Youngil Kim and Byung Ho Choi sucking 700 gallons of grease from two storage tanks behind a Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant in North Bergen Monday.

Waste oil can be turned into biodiesel fuel. The restaurant sells its grease to a contractor for a little more than $1 a gallon.

Police say the men attached a hose to a pump in a canary yellow van. The oil was stored in a plastic bladder.

Detective Lt. Frank Cannella tells The Record newspaper they “weren’t sneaky thieves, they were greasy thieves.”

When the economy starts getting this tough, people will resort to extreme measure to make ends meet. No one wants to go around stealing cooking oil.. Very sad.

Did they produce a green card? If or not available - deport them back to their greasy country of origin.

Interesting comment. So if they are black people, you will say deport them back to Africa?

If they are white, you say deport them back to Britain or other place in Europe or Russia, etc?

I'm very sure if they are Hispanic, you will surely say deport them back to Cuba,Puerto Rico or whatever.

You are assuming that they don't have green cards which means you stereotype. Will you say that will a black guy or white guy.

To be filtered and resold back to restaurants in NYC as new fryer oil. You know my eggrolls tasted a little wierd last week.

There's no such thing as deporting people back to Puerto Rico seeing as Puerto Rico is a commonwealth/territory of The United States of America. Puerto Ricans can NEVER be deported out of the United States because they are all naturalized citizens.

Typical BS "white liberal" logic!!

Explain to us then why there are millions of other "poor" people in this country who don't resort to stealing cooking oil?

You are assuming that they don't have green cards which means you stereotype. Will you say that will a black guy or white guy [sic].

I'll bet you $100 that these 2 guys are ethnic Koreans!

Police say they caught Youngil Kim and Byung Ho Choi

I'll bet you a further $100 that you don't even have a clue what I'm talking about!!

Puerto Ricans can NEVER be deported out of the United States because they are all naturalized citizens.

That's unfortunate!

I'm 100% in favor of granting Puerto Rico it's independence!!!

Sadly, its not our call. They get to vote every so often, with 3 choices: Independence, Statehood, or remain a commonwealth.

Well, they know they cant control themselves, so they will never go for independence. And they will never vote statehood, because then it makes them responsible for following all federal obligations, and they don't want that either. No, they like being a commonwealth... they get the benefits of being Americans without any of the responsibility.

collecting bottles and cans are extreme measures, stealing used oil is very lucrative. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like to get in the 'business'.

"Five Guys" burgers are great. I can't wait for one to open in Queens, that way the grease can be stolen locally without making the trip to North Bergen.

Illegal immigrants stealing the grease that Americans won't steal.

That's why I don't eat stir fry anymore.

LOL...those "yellow peril" thieves even used a canary yellow van to commit their crime.

They probably intended to sell it to Ackerman's friends at the Trib who in turn would make a profit supplying its affiliate whore parlors with recycled "lube"!

It's a lot cheaper than "KY" or "Vaseline"!
