Melinda Katz has an opponent - and this is who he is

TAKE BACK OUR BOROUGH!

Dear CIVIC, SERVICE, RELIGIOUS & COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS OF QUEENS,

My name is William K. Kregler and I am running for Queens Borough President on the Republican and Conservative lines. I retired from public service after 23 years as a N.Y.C. Housing Police Officer, Firefighter and Fire Marshal. I am the President of the N.Y.C. Fire Marshals Benevolent Association. I also served on Community Educational Council #24 where we built more schools than any other school board. City Hall has ignored our concerns by imposing their political agendas upon us. Millions on bike lanes, speed cameras, shelters, huge contracts to big donors. The playing of the race card has contributed to the assassinations of Police Officers as well as widening the divide among New Yorkers. I have stepped up to the challenge to reverse this trend and bring back the quality of life we once enjoyed. Please forward this information to everyone you know in Queens and tell them they have a choice this year in making a better future for their families. This is a truly a grassroots effort but recent events have shown that underdogs can win when the issues are so important to all. I’m counting on your support in this endeavor and look forward to celebrating with you on November 7th!

I am running to reform the uncheck over-development happening in Queens and to bring back control of our neighborhoods to our local school and community boards. The current administration has misled the community on issues of shelters and has ignored community board votes and decisions when they conflict with the Mayor’s agenda. Bring back the quality of life we once enjoyed by voting on November 7th for William Kregler.

My vote as well. Hell, at this point, I would vote for a slice of pizza before I would vote for Katz the Hack.

"Unchecked over development"?
Sounds like a ringer to me.
Anybody who successfully runs for beep is backed by REBNY!
Probably a wolf on shhep's clothing.

I hope you can come thru with your promises. North East Queens needs your help. The quality of life in our neighborhoods is in serious jeopardy. No more high rises ! Preserve our communities and Mom and Pop businesses. NO ! to the prison in College Point - keep the prison on Rikers !!!! Preserve our parks and wetland areas !
Prevent privatization/disposal fees for residential trash - the writing is on the wall on this one. Parks department needs to step it up and trim over growth of trees and weeds on city property in our neighborhoods.

No more BS when calling the QBP office to complain about a serious quality of life issue ! - I was told by QBP office that "it wasn't there job". I told them that they are responsible to address ALL issues related to the quality of life in the borough they represent and that if they felt it wasn't their job they should "lock the office door behind them on Friday, leave the key under the mat and don't bother coming back "

Anything is better than reelecting a hyper-corrupt, REBNY obedient, entrenched, establishment-rigged sycophant like Melinda Katz, whose entirely tainted Queens Borough Hall is run like a third rate, organized crime ring that is about to collapse.

And, any woman who refuses to return a beloved, publicly authorized-and-demanded statue like 'Triumph Of Civic Virtue' (when the 16-ton statue should have never been evicted in the first place, and worse——to spend ten times the amount of returning the statue, or $920,000, to re-purpose Kew Gardens Plaza, when it only needed its willfully decayed statue to be cleaned, conserved and preserved, at less than $50,000), then it's abundantly clear to the ever languishing peasants, I mean taxpayers' of Queens, that there IS no room for Civic Virtue at THIS Borough Hall of epic, humanitarian fail!

How anyone could squander nearly a million of We, the People's hard earned dollars to fill a re-purposed fountain base with plants (that nobody was ever asked, much less wanted), is a testament to the profligate, wanton waste that Monarch Melinda and her 300% fake henchmen continue to abuse, with impunity that is unprecedented, to date!

You had your shot at honest, ethical, inclusionary, not for sale leadership (that leads by example), and just like your two, profoundly art challenged predecessors, you failed miserably (and expensively, with other people's money)!

But, one good thing about Civic Virtue was that its allegorical powers actually worked in the case of former, disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner. When Weiner suggested that the statue be sold on Craig's List, on Friday, February 25, 2011 (when it was still on prominent, but severely neglected display), Weiner was gone as he resigned in disgrace, only 10 weeks later, but our man Civic Virtue was still keeping vigil (until he was evicted by recent daisy pusher, Helen Marshall, may she rot in eternal hell)!

Yes, that's what everyone said before TRUMP won the election.

Vote with your heart and mind for change from the previous and present "feminists".

They were and are as crooked as duh blasio and maybe we will have the change we desperately need in Queens.

She's spending a fortune on those oversized glossy pamphlets jamming our mailboxes. Half a million dollars easy. Our dollars. Sleazy.

"Yes, that's what everyone said before TRUMP won the election."

Trump lost the popular vote, lost the NYS vote, lost the NYC vote and lost the Queens (his hometown) vote.

I too would love to see a paradigm shift, a complete upheaval, but I'm realistic.

She has a challenger? so this explains why I have been getting all those fancy pamphlets from her campaign.

As you said, Trump lost the popular vote everywhere. However, Hillary lost the election. Thousands of Americans were "realistic, too, but look who got into office.

The brutalistic treatment of Trump as well as the disrespectful attitude toward our Presidential office and his administration by everyone with a mouth and an ax to grind is unprecedented but the stock market is up and business is optimistic.

There is a commenter on this blog who calls us "sheeple" who may continue to be right unless and until we, the people, are willing to take a chance to upset and overthrow this do-nothing mayor and his administration.

Who knows what will eventually come down the pike but not taking a chance means we have to deal with the same old devil who openly considers only himself, his wife, his children but NOT ONE of his constituents. Remember that on November 7th.

In a current Queens Crap article on LaGuardia Airport, QBNative said...
"As usual, tourists are the big winner when the city unveils big projects. it's this fuck the taxpayer mentality that DiBlASSio and Super Mario Cuomo junior believe in that is going to screw us all in the long run. I'm moving to Texas!!"

QBNative is very succinct and were I younger and had no pets,
I'd be on the same train out of town to Dallas.
Only Federal tax there.
And no REBNY bought politicians.

'Civic Virtue' shoudl be returned to City Hall

Recently, public officials unveiled the newly restored fountain at Queens Borough Hall in honor of the Women of Queens.

What once stood on top of the fountain was a statue by sculptor Fredrick William MacMonnies called “Civic Virtue Triumphant over Unrighteousness.”

The statue was unveiled at City Hall in 1922 at a cost of $60,000 in taxpayer money. It depicted a nude man personifying civic virtue triumphantly standing over the twin sirens of “vice” and “corruption.”

Some people had a different interpretation of the art work. It was later moved to Queens Borough Hall in 1941, and remained there unkempt for 71 years.

Then in 2012, the city decided to secretly move the statue from public view to private property. The benefactor was the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.

What should bother most people is the lack of a public forum in its removal. We are currently in a time period where certain individuals or groups of people believe they have the right to re-interpret an artist’s meaning in his work and therefore apply 21st century attitudes.

I recall not too long ago when city funds were used to present art work depicting a crucifix in a jar of urine. Back then, the radical liberals defended the artwork and chastised the critics for imposing their narrow minded viewpoints of an artist’s own interpretation.

How far have we come in reversing these roles?

The rightful place for Civic Virtue is back at City Hall Park to remind all elected officials, particularly the current administration, that they cannot run a Tammany Hall administration or act like a Boss Tweed.

William K. Kregler is a Republican candidate for Queens borough president.

To William Kregler, and the Anonymous who posted his published piece from the LIC/Astoria Journal:

Alas, former Community Board 9 District Manager, Mary Ann Carey and I have been fighting tirelessly for Civic Virtue's rightful return to Kew Gardens Plaza, ever since I stumbled upon the willfully decaying statue in June of 2008, when I had personal business at Queens Borough Hall to attend. Now, Ms. Carey is officially retired (since October, 2014), and my plight for Civic Virtue forges ahead until justice finally prevails for the residents of Kew Gardens.

Since that time, between June, 2008 and September, 2014), Ms. Carey and I have been up against a corrupt, UNACCOUNTABLE system of infantile, arrogant, dismissive and unresponsive tyrants from WITHIN Queens Borough Hall itself, and beyond. That is why I will never stop fighting until the statue is returned to its fountain based perch, in order to once again adorn Queens Boulevard, and for the waterworks to be turned on again, as a testament to the statue's allegorical message of all civic virtue triumphing over the CURRENT caravan of Borough Hall corruption and vice that never ends.

Why? Because the public good must ALWAYS outweigh the crushing weight of all private (and, now public and political) gain——a credo and publicly demanded mantra that all three borough presidents, to date (Melinda Katz, Helen Marshall and Claire Schulman), have been intentionally 'tone deaf' to their civic obligations to their languishing constituency, and We, the People.

However, I agree with Mr. Kregler in that the statue should be returned, but NOT to City Hall, but to the borough of Queens County, where it was gifted by former Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, in 1941. Mayor LaGuardia was painfully aware of the rampant, openly practiced corruption, graft and greed that was foisted on to the residents of Queens, and the statue was sent there as a stern-and-personal message to ALL politicians (not public servants), to clean up their graft. And, given how Queens County is now a cesspool of hyper-corrupt, entrenched and establishment-rigged corruption, Civic Virtue is needed FAR MORE URGENTLY at Kew Gardens Plaza, than it could have ever been needed at Bill de BLASS-hole's City Hall, which in fact needs a virtuous statue of their OWN to be sculpted for public display, because it's too late to rewind history back to the beginning. But, a good start would be to return our beloved man, Civic Virtue right back to the borough to which he was eternally gifted by the mayor himself, in 1941.

And, if our purported leaders of the late 20th, and early 21 century would have spent a FRACTION of the time that they squandered on evicted public works of art like Civic Virtue (that the public demanded that the artwork remain exactly where it used to be located in Kew Gardens), then there would be plenty of time to allocate funds and people services to the ACTUAL problems, disparities and social ills that Melinda Katz, Helen Marshall and Claire Schulman continually ignored for more than half a century. And, the public be damned (again and STILL)!
