Juniper Park area tagged with graffiti

Recently, there has been graffiti painted around Juniper Park. There are instances on the sidewalks and in the street around the park and just within the last 24 hours, someone sprayed graffiti (with explicatives) on the fence of a well kept private home. We need more police presence, especially at night, to catch these vandals! There is a curfew around the park starting at 9PM but often into the wee hours of the night there are juveniles hanging around. This will only get worse if nothing is done! Graffiti is a NYC crime. Our local precincts (104th for Middle Village) need to be constantly made aware of what's going on so they can (hopefully) take action. NYC offers rewards (up to $500) to anyone who provides information on the graffiti vandal.

I trust Elizabeth Crowley, our NYC Council Member and the Juniper Park Civic Association will assist in apprehending these vandals so we can keep Middle Village a "neighborhood" and not "the hood".

I have been informed that the graffiti is scheduled for removal on Friday. - QC

How does one get graffiti off of plastic or vinyl?

East Coast chapter of the Canta Ranas (CR)13, this is gang shit turf markings from Mexico or California.
The Canta Ranas13 killed most each other over off in Mexico and Santa Fe Springs in the 80s but now their kids are starting it up again here.
Thank you Obama, CuomoII and Deblasio. --bars on windows, drugs, prostitution and bullets next.

Crowley and the 104 don't know what this means ?
Here learn yourself something Crowley & 104 and to add stop enabling slumlords to house this 3rd world scum in the neighborhood before it snowballs into another East LA hell !!

There are NOT enough cops on patrol( except in Manhattan South). Btw, the citywide vandals task force is down to 12 cops, and none work after 10pm. You're on your own.......

It was only a matter of time, has anyone seen the daily conditions of the park? Litter everywhere, equality has arrived to juniper, it's getting just as crappy as other parks

Let's all become part of the solution. If you see someone painting graffiti, call your precinct or 311. I know it may be a lost cause, but at least it's logged in and maybe the cumulative effect will get someone's attention. How about a neighborhood watch group?

Anonymous said...

You're supposed to call 911 not 311 if you see someone making graffiti.

All the $$$ going to Brooklyn & Manhattan.

A neighborhood watch would be ideal. But in this new upside down world we live in it would be labeled a racist endeavor

No issues if you are allowed an ak47

About two months ago I was in JVP, with my 4 year old in the little playground off of 74th street.

Within the playground, there is a small fenced in garden. A hispanic man, dressed like a hood slob, was sitting on a rock talking to himself and tossing dirt. Another Mother and myself both called 911. An ambulance came right away and then the 104. He knew we called and started to walk away cursing the "people of MFing Middle Village."

He was obviously NOT from the neighborhood and was high on drugs.

I recently learned about some section 8 housing in the neighborhood and now the homeless shelters.

I cringe at the thought of more of this crap coming to our beautiful park.

The punks tagging up the neighborhood will get their butts kicked by the locals when they're caught, I have no doubt!

Again I call for the politicians in the City Council, Assembly and Senate to pass a law that will inhibit the growth of this vandalism.

My idea is to charge a steep deposit on spray paint cans, $50 dollars per can is a start and the purchaser must present a valid photo ID. When the can is returned with the purchase receipt the buyer will get his deposit back.

Most graffiti vandals cannot afford this. A couple of cans will mean a $100 deposit. Most vandals do not have credit cards so this will place a serious dent in their crime.

Think about it. We are charged deposits on soda, water and beer bottles as well as cans to prevent litter and help the environment. The same fee could apply to spray paint cans but with a much heftier price.

To Judy G. Shame on you for recently learning about Section 8 and the homeless shelters, this has been going on for years. Stay involved people. BTW If locals beat the snot out of these punks they will be the ones getting arrested, not the real criminals.

I just came back from Southern California. I was visiting a neighborhood on Orange County the I visited 15 years ago. Back then it was absolutely beautiful, palm trees, brand new stores, well paved blacktop streets, well manicured lawns, incredible landscaping etc. This visit however, horrified me as I saw how badly an area could decline in a few short years. Long story short, Middle Village, I have seen your future and it's not looking good.

At the risk of sounding like a liberal I will say one thing "If locals beat the snot out of these punks" they WILL be the criminals. Sorry but you can't assault vandals or litterbugs.

'Orange County 15 years ago'

Annon I was recently at the NAMM show at the convention center across from Disneyland. I was shocked as well. The whole area looked like a scene from "Escape from New York" or Bushwick in 1972.
The Mexican's totally destroyed Orange county-Anahiem. It's even WORSE down in San Diego, around Sea World. I had an apt on point Loma (around Sea World/I-5) It was quite paradise in 1981 but now war zone, I couldn't recall anything. Garbage, graffiti, mariachi music blasting, leaking raw sewage and people throwing up or staggering in the streets everyplace.
One dude took a pig out his pickup cut it throat and gutting on a palm tree at the sidewalk as kids must been over a dozen laughed.
This is what Maspeth, MV is going to look like in 3-8 years.
This Crowley doesn't have the guts brains to stop it, perhaps its what stupid voters deserve.

There needs to be a major protest from the community and perhaps pressure the do nothing politicians into cracking down on the no reply, no answer, no nothing police from the precint that covers Middle Village. How many times does not have to call in order for these people to come, to answer plain stuff such as blocked driveways and the like? Blame it on the police for lack of presence. If more of them would have their breaks and snacks parked around the park at certain sporadic hours at night...this nonsense would not happen.

Don't blame the cops! The pols cut the dept by over 5000 cops and nearly 400 civilians. They enacted Local Law 71 and have handcuffed the police.Put the pressure on them. The mayor just spent $13 million on 'violence interrupters', what a joke!! As i have said before, good locks, alarms and outdoor lighting along with a shotgun is what you need ............circle the wagons!

Let the guys talking about usinng shotguns be the first to use them, instead of egging other people on. Put your money where your mouths are, and then let's see how the NYPD responds.

Anonymous said...

there is graffiti on the ground on the path that links the north side of juniper to the south side that runs past the hockey rink....two tags spray painted in white...they were there this weekend....

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about using a shotgun? Know the law and be prudent. Didn't the vice president say i could fire rounds into the air. If he said it ,it must be true.

We are back to the times when there will be little city services rendered. If you see graffiti, clean it, or paint over it if it is not private property.i do it all the time in my neighborhood. If it is cleaned quickly and repeatedly, the mutts tag elsewhere.

Anon No. 22 -

Look up a few items about people brandishing shotguns. And just because Biden said it doesn't make it right, either.

When will the general public understand these new people coming into the country were brought up like animals who are content living a such. Its all "normal" to them and they CAN NOT be changed.
These Guatemalan refugees on Halsey street were given garbage bags and cans. They fill them with soiled diapers and throw the garbage, chicken bones (all stuff that rots)out the 3rd floor window down into the yard.
Now the people on that street have rats and feral cats everywhere at night. A disgusted cop told me despite all the proof and video they cant single a building landlord or occupants out without having an equal amount of "white people" accused of doing the same thing or they get reprimanded.
Its something about the race numbers numbers having to be the same to avoid "discrimination"

In a nut shell I think the cops was hinting white residents could balance complaints out by deliberately committing slobbery and reporting each other to get enforcement.

All the citizens of NYC voiced their opinion and dont want the police to do anything. Damage is done. Nobody cares anymore. Now the white neighborhoods are feeling it. It's not about lazy. It's not about doing nothing. It's why bother telling a 'Hispanic' unarmed man to leave a 'public' park. It's his civil right to sit there high on drugs. How dare the police harass him for being Latino.

Its so bad perhaps the mob should do what they did in Las Vegas over the past 2 years.
They flooded the streets with cheap heroine and the assholes OD'd, broke into people houses and got shot or killed each other. Homicide and crime did spike but then both dropped like a rock.
The same thing had started happening happening in Detroit since they not only gave guns back to citizens but allowed them to be loaded. Again--the scumbags are getting shot or shooting and robbing each other.

The graffitti on the sidewalk in Juniper Valley park remains as it was shown in the pictures with this post. Who is responsible? Is it the parks dept?

Also, it would be nice if someone cleaned up after the "human animals" that habitate the park at night and leave their pizza boxes, beer bottles, ice cream containers around 75-77th st on the north side of the park. There has been crap that's been there since the weekend and no one has cleaned it. Just see more and more each day....
