Steve Israel endorses Avella

From the Observer:

Congressman Steve Israel, the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, has endorsed State Senator Tony Avella’s re-election bid, Mr. Avella’s campaign announced today.

Mr. Israel, a Long Island-based congressman who represents a chunk of eastern Queens that overlaps with Mr. Avella’s district, said the Queens Democrat worked closely with him since Mr. Israel recently began representing Queens.

“When Congressional redistricting brought me to Queens, Senator Avella was one of the first elected officials to reach out,” Mr. Israel said in a statement. “He partnered with me on combating airplane noise, fighting for our veterans and standing up for New York’s middle-class families. I’ve seen firsthand his relentless work ethic and dedication to his district. For these reasons, I endorse Tony Avella’s candidacy.”

This endorsement means nothing as no one knows who Israel is in queens.

Israel represents a good portion of Avella's constituents in Congress, so maybe you should take your head out of your ass.

Of all people John Liu chose to run against.

Avella is one of the most honest politician in the country while Liu has proven over and over again he's not to be trusted.

To the last poster....

I hope you understand (and I think you do) that the fact that Avella is honest is the REASON
Shit-on-my-shoe-Liu is being pursued to run.

The view from the cheap seats in Virginia is grand for Traitor Joe (Crowley).

So Vallone will endorse Grant Lally because Giuliani endorse Vallone!

I am beginning to think somehow honest has become a dirty word to too many people. Sure is scary.

another left-wing lib. kiss of death for Avella.

Anon No. 11: This will bring Avella more votes than lose him votes. If you support him, what's your complaint? If you don't, why should you care?

Avella needs to win, the only good guy we have in Queens. No surprise Queen Katz supported Liu.

Avella is going to have a tough time this time around. The demographics of the area favor John Lui. It'll be a sad day if that guy gets elected, but as of right now, If I had to put money on it, Id say Lui the lier is going to get in.
Terrible!

I think Avella is going to win. I haven't seen Liu campaigners coming like in a normal campaign. It is not the interesting senate race I thought it would be.

For 19 years I'v been a resident of College Point. This is the first time I have seen a senator ask the home owners is they have any problems that we can solve. Everyone in the neighborhood is surprised with his help and tireless work. Has already won many people's heart and defiantly he will this coming election.
