Google Street View reveals Ciafone-mobile

31-76 38th Street. This one grabs attention not for illegal signs hanging off the building, but because John Ciafone's campaign van is parked on the paved-over front lawn and sticking out onto the sidewalk. The curb cut was unauthorized as well. The joke of it all is that Ciafone's wife, Gina Argento, paid a $500 fine and the issue was marked "resolved" after legalization papers were filed. The fact that the illegal driveway led to an illegal parking pad was not an issue, I suppose.

Does fine mean bribe? Let's put a protected bike lane in front.

That house looks so squished in there. That really looks like third world crap! Not sure if it has always been like that but if it has Then the developer who created that block must have been really desperate for room.

............and this is why so many things just do not get done in this city. There seems to be really no true type of law enforcement by city agencies and if you do something illegal, like a curb cut, you get a fine, but the illegal curb cut still stays and then you can go ahead and illegally park on top of this.

New York City.................

Is that an illegal driveway? That house looks terrible - where's it's front yard?

Hey, Crapper. Has there been any response from the Ciafones to the attention that they have (deservedly) received?

they do this all over queens people -- stop picking on Mr. Ciafone -- how about all of the other things that are happening in Queens -- being done illegally -- give it a break -- how about the Pan American Hotel becoming a homeless shelter -- this was done under the table --

Wow. How much do you wanna bet the previous comment was posted by Ciafone. Anyone?

Ciafone should be arrested for graffiti with all his shitty ugly signs on all these small buildings and all over this van. It's all an ugly eyesore, and done in violation of the law (at least when it's on the residential houses).

Does anyone know if his shitty van has commercial plates or not? Because if it doesn't, it should be ticketed and towed.

'Rent is too damn High' Jimmy Mack at least paid some money to get a proper wrap on his car. Ciafone's paper-flyer covered van is a ridiculous joke that shouldn't be allowed on the streets.

Someone really screwed the pooch on this one. The Ciafone-mobile only makes appearances during the night, and it is supposed to be parked at one of John's secret underground lairs under the Kosciuszko bridge. I should know, as I was once his chauffeur, yet was fired for time fraud.

Tsk, tsk. You folks should stopping picking on Ciafone. The time he is undoubtedly spending reading the comments here would be, should be otherwise spent fleecing tenants, filing spurious lawsuits, sending illucid correspondence and being an overall sack of pus.

Is hepatitis C(iafone) capable of being offended? He can just shield himself from the barrage of insults and constructive criticism with his mammoth posters of his sweaty all-american picture

can the city send some cops to follow him to kinkos and preemptively charge him for vandalism when he picks up his pallet.

They should fine him for using a photo that is at least 15 years old and 40 pounds lighter while they're at it.

The kind of buildings going up in Astoria look like garbage.

Not surprised when you look at the civics in that part of Queens.

Dutch Kills (we love hotels) Civic Association

United Community (we love politicians) Civic Association.

Nice work George Stamatiades!

Nice work Rose Marie Proveramo!

Lets appoint them both for another decade or two on Community Board 1, the community board from hell
