Crime on the rise before summer kicks off

From DNA Info:

Serious crime increased in three-quarters of the city's neighborhoods last month as New York heads into a summer that may be long, hot and violent, DNAinfo New York has learned.

Fifty-seven of the city's 76 NYPD precincts reported spikes in serious crime during a four-week period ending May 24 compared to the previous four weeks, according to NYPD statistics compiled on a new DNAinfo crime mapping system.

The other 19 precincts reported overall crime remained steady or declined during the period, compared to the previous month.

While it has long been police lore that crime rises with warmer weather, the trend is even more disturbing because it is not confined to the two eye-catching categories — murder and shootings — that Mayor Bill de Blasio and police brass have blamed on localized gang activities.

Serious crime includes rape, robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny and auto theft.

So how about compare to the year before, not the four weeks before?

http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/crime_statistics/cscity.pdf

Robbery is up 0.3%, auto theft is up 1.0%, felony assault down 1.1%, burglary down 11%, grand larceny (non auto) down 1.4%. Rapes up 34.5%. Murders up 52.9%. Major crimes total down 1.84%. So blaz brushes off the murder totals by saying it's just an uptick of gang on gang activity, innocents aren't killed more than usual. Doesn't explain the rape spike. misdemeanor sex crimes up 28.7% too. Why's the city getting so rapey this year?

Yea a lot of it is also illegals gone wild too. Always a rape case in the news these days and 90 percent of the time, it's an illegal.

Mayor and Police need to act with one voice--as a result of this not happening, criminals will begin to flaunt their nature more and more openly...

What a complete surprise! Can't be the new idiot's-I mean Mayor's-- policy on stop and frisk and criminalizing NYPD, right? I'm sure while he's on political trips around the country he's thinking day and night about how well his policies are working here. So glad you all elected him. Only 10.5 more years, right?

Funeral Homes are doing well under Mayor DiBlasio

With all of the inequality Bloomberg helped to create and that which DeBlasio continues, this is not a surprise at all. What did they think would happen as they turned this city into luxury condos with no real services and only retail jobs? The homeless situation is also out of control, but fixing it doesn't line anyone's pockets. This city has turned into complete crap.
