You know this 2-family Maspeth house with a nice wide sideyard has to go. I picture two 2-family houses with those crappy underground garages that are practical in areas like this one that tends to flood.
Now that's more like it. Built with safety deficiencies and without regard to the new side yard and street tree requirements. Who needs green space these days, anyway? Especially in an area that tends to flood?

This is what happens over and over again because there is no public education programs, and political pressure for anything else.
The communities that could get the ball rolling a safe behind their green line.
Time to overturn the landmarks law and overturn spot downzoning.
