Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt

Hmm ... anyone out there for a law suit?
If churches can't ring bells on Sunday (disturbs the neighbors) and you can no longer say 'Merry Christmas' ....
No wait, they don't care. Empty pews. Ministers delivering canned sermons and collecting big salaries for 3 hours of work a week.
Churches are real estate parcels awaiting development.
Sorry, forget it.
But Bristol is such an English name.
SOMEONE SHOULD CALL "DEPARTMENT OF STATE" (DOS) AND REPORT A TEXT BOOK EXAMPLE OF 'CREED' DISCRIMINATION.
THAT'S A BIGGY WITH THE NYS DOS ENFORCEMENT CROWD.
IT WILL RUN THE GUILTY PARTIES A FINE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF $100,000.00+ RANGE.
And they talk about discrimination!!! Disgusting!
oh you all have such double standards - grow up - I am not jewish- but its merely a statement of fact - if the building had been near many churches - they would have said "close to many churches" stop trying to find something wrong and get on with your lives - if you really want to live there - go buy one - but live there in peace with many Jewish and I am sure non -jewish neighbors and be tolerant of them as they are with you.

It's not the mention of the word "synagogues" that's wrong here. READ THE FINE PRINT.
Architecturally, it's much more pleasant than any new building in the borough of Queenscrap. Based on aesthetics, I wonder if the materials will measure up to old world institutions. What are your thoughts?
The developer and advertiser should have emphasized its proximity to religious institutions, not to single out any religion.
Why in the world do you think this is wrong? It's only reaching out to a particular demographic. Orthodox Jews can only walk to Synagogue because they are forbidden from working on the sabbath and driving is considered working. So being able to walk to Synagogue is an important feature to them. This flyer doesn't discriminate against anyone. By the way, I'm not Jewish...actually I'm an atheist.
The title of this post is "read the fine print". So I suggest people do this before posting more comments.
symall.com only tagets one religion. How about adapting to all? It's 2007... Haven't we learned throughout history to embrace all? Shame on you!!!!
So what if the developer is targeting a Jewish audience? If I were to give this ad to my Spanish friend and he would try applying for an apartment there- only then could it be proven whether there is illegal discrimination.
In Flushing, apartment ads are written in Chinese, with little if any English. Go investigate them!
my comment still stands - you cant tell me that Christian or other factions have never been targeted by a developer or other group - It still does not preclude ANYONE from purchasingan apt.---get off your high horse and focus on real issues...I agree with the other blogger - perhaps this will be a nice architecyral building that we sorely need - G-d knows (non religious group specific) you bash enopught of the architects and AIA in Queens - try saying something nice about this building and welcome its design and attention to the community in terms of its design.
"all Jewish electronic media company" eh?
Someone's looking at an EEO suit.
Why are non-white or non-Christians held to a different standard than white Christians? Discrimination is discrimination.
Remember when Jackson Heights and Forest Hills had deed restrictions against Jews?
Held up as examples of discrimination by those nasty protestants.
This ad is not really the same, but, again, it is for the same spirit is there.
Mao Tse Tung had once said....
"religion is poison".
(No....I'm not a Communist....
but maybe on this point he hit on something).
You can have FAITH in The Creator (or whatever)
without subscribing to organized rote practices
which might foster hypocrisy and competition
among the peoples of the Earth.
Religion sometimes divides
and sub divides us rather than uniting us
together in the family of man (women included)!
they would sell to anyone jew or non jew alike ..whoever can pay for the apt will get it.
