More change to Broadway-Flushing

"Broadway-Flushing...make room for Malba...coming your way within 5 years! This is that other stately center hall colonial that is getting a "horizontal side extension". Keep sitting on your hands, Paul Vallone, and watch your classy nabe become Mc Mansionville. Located...west side 167 St towards Crocheron." - The Flushing Phantom

Someone should ask "phony baloney"
Paul Vallone about the knock downs in North Flushing.
Hey readers did you ever walk south of Northern Blvd toward 45th Ave. and Murry St.? That is what Broadway-Flushing will look like in ten years if the "Crap" is not stopped soon.

Soon to be a multiple dwelling.

Flushing Phanton,
Why don't you call Vallone or go visit with him and actually ask him what he is willing to do to protect Broadway-Flushing from the developers?

We can't just gripe about it, everyone has to do their bit. If he does nothing report that but please try.

I think this would make a great exhibit at Queens Historical Society, a position statement from the Borough Historian's position on Landmarks, and something in writing from that group that meets in Borough Hall in secret every month to discuss preservation.

And since Queens is officially celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Landmarks, an insistence that this should be part of the official program.

We should also encourage other groups around the borough that are interested in their communities to also follow suit.

Is there a permit for use of that machinery??

I have encountered Paul Vallone RE important issues.
He is usually evasive about these important ones that affect where he lives.

So, what is left to do but...hmmmm...give him a a very public wake up call on a blog spot that has millions of readers.

"Griping" about his lack of interest in supporting a historic district on Queens Crap is the only way to gat that developers' lobbyist to take notice.

Queens Crap is an extremely powerful tool...an unfettered free voice. Crappy goes where no politically friendly weekly news rag...like the Courier or Tribune....would dare to go.

Now you have had your Queens Crap notice, Don Vallone. Will you take measures to ensure that Broadway secures municipal district status?

Anon #3, sounds like one of those St. Andrews social hour hostesses. Maybe she's got a crush on Paulie.

I' m for grabbing Don Chooch by his short hairs and asking him, "Waddaya gonna do about this kind of crap"?

If the don don't like what's being said about him here, do something real, or get out of politics.

Acting like a Poyanna will get you nowhere, Miss Hostess.

Vallone doesn't care about tear downs.
I'll bet he thinks all those Malba Mc Mansions look grand.

If Flushing phantom goes and has a face to face with Vallone , he OR SHE , might walk away with a contract out on his or her. LOL!
Anonymity is the way to go......just like Zorro!

Chuck Apellian and Paul Vallone are real tight.
Watch those two carefully.
They are not out to do anyone good but themselves.

Apelian has served too damn long on CB7. Anyone smell a rat here?

If someone is developing within the context of zoning, there is nothing the council or anyone else can do. Why does anyone think otherwise?

I suppose you've been living under a rock for the past 10 years or so as the neighborhood tried in vain to obtain historic district status.

Anonymous said...

I was present , years ago, when Paul Vallone was asked by a BFHA member if he would support a historic district for Broadway if he were a councilman.
His reply was, "If the residents want it".

Hey goombah....you got a hearing problem?

The residents overwhelmingly want it. A written survey was done to support that. Take action or forget about your second term!

I hope you gargle everytime you intend on kissing Vallone's sphincter ring....you anonymous ass kisser.

Anonymous said...

Why is it that Vallone , or his suck ups, can always find a "good reason" never to take any action that would buck his real estate clients?

LOL! I love it...the image of a "sphincter ring".
Might I offer an old line?

"He'd sell a rat's asshole to a blind man for a wedding ring".

That sums up Paulie Vallone...an iconic lying politico....as low as you can go....and with less brains than his brothers.
Go get a real job instead of coasting along in the family business.

Vallone is great at introducing watered down bills that protect his developer clients interests over his constituents interests. That phony Rickert-Finlay deed restriction registration bill he proudly announced that has no teeth in it is an insult to our associations intelligence.

Thanks for nothing councilman!

I guess that Senator Avella must be called in to do Councilman Vallone's job.

Now, if I were a developer, I would have instant access to Vallone with speed dial privileges.

Anonymous said...

Councilman Avella supported municipal historic district status for Briadway when he represented us. Why has councilman Vallone still got his thumb up his rectum?

Maybe he needs a good dose of Castor oil?

More chinese crap..what else is new?

Chrome Dome Vallone sickens me nearly every day. A useless eater!!

Saving the neighborhood (Broadway-Flushing) by land-marking might save the buildings but what about your peace and quiet and health. ? Today as I write on this blog I have my windows open to get some fresh spring air. All I'm getting is noise, fumes and more noise and fumes from LGA !
Thanks to the new flight patterns from the FAA's reckless Next Gen technology I will have to close them to avoid all the "Crap" in my sky.

"I guess that Senator Avella must be called in to do Councilman Vallone's job."

Ya can't bother Tony with neighborhood stuff anymore, he has bigger fish to fry.
Wait! Wait! Or is it machetes to ban.

Hey, Wise up. He's not in the Council anymore!

Anonymous said...

I live in Broadway flushing and don't want my property landmarked, nor does my neighbor. Keep your landmarking please.

Anonymous said...

This is the perfect way for QHS to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Landmarks.

Go ahead, ask em for an exhibit.

B'way resident for landmarking said...

You do not represent the majority of Broadway homeowners who have demonstrated that they do want their properties landmarked. You sound like an isolationist, and a poor neighbor. When you join a community you do what is good for the whole community.

It is a proven fact....homes in landmark districts increase, in value and get better delivery of city services.

Contrast across Northern Blvd. with what we have here.

This is a direct result of neighborhood preservation, and the stability that accompanies it.

Gag! What an Archie Bunker knucklehead you sound like.

Peace and quiet is another issue.

Reality check time:
Living in Queens, with its airports, do not guarantee the quietest skies.
Try living on Broadway and 42nd Street and expect to hear a pin drop.
C'mon, stop trying to plug in another issue.
Got a gripe with plane noise?
Then join "Quiet Skies" like me.

Is that that quirky Ed K. Posting against landmarking?
Fruit cakes belong in bakery shops.

Anonymous said...

Dumb ass...I am fully aware that Avella is no longer my councilman. Vallone is and doesn't give a damn about anyone or anything besides his climb up the political ladder and his real estate industry clients.

He is little more than a middleman dispensing a favor for a favor in return.

In other words a thug from his old nabe, Astoria.
But we must see him as a member of a royal family of political mobsters.

Funny, a lot of these kind of guys always go to church.

Anonymous said...

"Fish to fry" and "machetes to ban"?
Sounds like a malcontent NYC Expatriot is posting.
Somebody who's anti Avella, among other things.

Anonymous said...

Kingsland, home of QHS, was once referred to as "C-----''s toy house". This is one of the trustees that still remains on their board.

QHS is just a cute, well behaved hysterical society that will never make any waves. If they become too pro preservation, they will see their borough hall funding cut.

ALL of the borough's historical societies are tied to the apron strings of funding.

In a democracy, majority rules.
You and your neighbor have been outvoted by your others who have already demonstrated that they favor landmarking.

Be a good neighbor and realize that this will protect the value of your home. It is as important for your investment as carrying a homeowner's insurance policy.

Anonymous said...

"Dumb ass"..."malcontent NYC Expatriot..."

Looks like the Avella sycophants are out in force.

Again, WISE UP!
Avella is a member of one of the largest corrupt organizations in the USA called the Queens County Democratic Party.

Anonymous said...

Oops....must have struck that last posters nerve. Hmmmm. He had to use bold caps in place of the pair of balls he lacks.

What county upstate did you move to, fella?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Bubba, at least Avella tries harder than Vallone.
WTF has Don PUlo accomplished except doing felatio on himself.
He is a pathological narcicist.

Anonymous said...

Avella is an independent Democrat, butt hole. It is Vallone that is always giving head to Joe Crowley and his bhouys.

Doesn't he have a few Gambino friends too?

Anonymous said...

That corrupt Vallone dynasty goes all the way back to "Charlie the judge" Vallone.

How did grandpa get a judgeship way back in the dirtiest era in New York's history, hmmmmmm?

La famiglia has been butt banging us all since the 1940s.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and Republicans have assholes as clean as whistles? You are the one who needs wising up.

What's wrong about Queens is that there are no competent Republics that can offer competition to the lousy Democrats we have. So we are stuck with a one party syste. Alexander Putin would love living here. Ta, Ta, jerk wad!

Anonymous said...

Hmmm....we have not heard from a certain civic association president who is anti landmarking yet.

A lesson:

Before the Crown Heights historic district in Brooklyn was extended, you could buy a fabulous 1880s townhouse with pocket doors, stained glass...the works.

The price would have been about $850,000.
That same house in the newly extended district now fetches one and a half million in less than three years later.

And there are those of you who think that living in a historic district is a detriment?

Why is Brooklyn always ahead of Queens?
Perhaps it's because our politicians are cheap crooks.
Brooklyn has been called "Crooklyn", but they seem to have higher tone crooks than we have.

Are we really doomed to be a fourth rate borough?

Anonymous said...

Broadway Flushing still is a treasure trove of fine homes with curb appeal.
Increase the rate of tear downs and we will soon have a nabe that has turd appeal.

Anonymous said...

LOL! It 's those turd worlders that are ruining the architecture.

Anonymous said...

Ah, more Sycophants messaging each others private parts.

"Avella is an independent Democrat, butt hole"

True. But he still has to ingratiate himself with the Crowley crowd.
At least someone here remembers Avella's involvement with the College Point athletic fields that were used by a bent nose to dump unclean landfill.

Anonymous said...

Soon the borough historian can offer a walking tour of ruined Broadway homes. The "bubble gum" house near Bown Park is already famous as the epitome of bad taste.

Can you imagine tour buses going through Malba filled with tourists puking as they take in all those goombah palazzos. Broadway will be the second loop.

"Get your Gray Line tickets here folks".
Maybe Don Vallone can drive the bus. He's already tossed his district under the bus.

By now Don Paulo's crown must be a bright scarlet.

I looked out my window today and saw ten bags of cans and bottles my neighbor's tenant collected for recycling. Mario Cuomo is dead but his filthy deposit law still blights us.

Anonymous said...

Chinese crap? Turd Worlders?

You really need some manners. In case you didn't know this, the real estate agents that represent your little slice of paradise LOVE us "Turd Worlders". We come with large amounts of cash that they and the sellers are all too eager to take! My nephew is looking at a house that he is eager to tear down and replace with something shiny and new. Hopefully it will be garish enough for you people. Maybe he can arrange for some big red dragons on the front lawn. Here's a little tip for you haters: if you see "8"s in the asking price of the house, us "Turd Worlders" are being courted because that's an auspicious number for us. Have fun looking through the listings!

Anonymous said...

Red dragons? That's fantastic! Or how about a big Buddha or Mao Zedong on the front lawn, anonymous? 15 feet from the curb so it wouldn't be confused with a fence. These round-eyed people are dim, you know. Nice to see a fellow Asian on these boards. Normally I'm a nice quiet Asian, but the comments have been getting uglier. I am hoping some of my family from Sunset Park buys in the neighborhood very soon so I can suggest they paint their home fire engine red. Very lucky color for us tea drinkers! Wise up, people: "If you can't beat them, join them!" And if you don't want to, move far away so we can buy your houses! With CASH.
